But what is the political advantage? I get that turnaround is fair play, but if there isn't a political advantage, then why cut off your nose to spite your face.
McCarthy doesn't have the votes to get this passed, and I am doubtful he is going to turnup something new that will convince the hold-outs in his own party, most of who are sitting in districts Biden won, to vote for impeach and risk their own reelection.
Further, the past impeachments have shown that there is a backlash against the party doing the impeaching. So all this seems to do is make happy a few members in safe seats at the cost of the vulnerable members of their narrow majority.

McCarthy's regime so far is a clusterfuck. Doesn't have the votes to impeach. Rapist Gaetz, MTG and Boebert have him by the nuts and want him out. They will shut down the govt in 10 days.

I'd like to know what other speakers the Freedom Caucus have in mind should they decide to get rid of McCarthy. They'll never get one of their own to get the nomination.
It would really be funny if a few Republicans in Democratic districts decided to vote for Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker in the interim just to give the Caucus a middle finger.
Now another question I have for both Bobbie and Strange - how safe is Ken Buck looking for reelection? He's one of the few FC people acting sane right about now (and might find himself in the same boat as MTG if he's not careful. I know Lauren Boebert is really going to have to put her nose to the grindstone if she's going to win another term. She barely won in a year where there was supposed to be this big red wave and now the Democrats will absolutely pull all the stops to run against her.

I’d assume he’s good. He primarily represents suburban Douglas County and rural areas to the East and North. Last I saw Doug Co is ~80% R and has school choice. It’s about as dark red as you can get.
I really don’t get why people care so much about Boebert. She represents her district well if you’ve been there.Last edited by Strange Brew; 09-12-2023 at 04:09 PM.

Considering Boebert's district usually runs about R+10, that's not a seat that should be in play.

Once again Paul likes or purposely ignores all of the evidence already public.
Hey Paul, you even have Joe Biden bragging publicly on tape that he interfered in a Foreign Country’s judiciary by coercing that country’s leader into firing a prosecutor who was deeply investigating a company, Burisma, for corruption- the same company that was paying his son $80,000 per month for nothing.
The arrogant Democrats started down this path with “evidence” created out of whole cloth. You reap what you sow.
And there is this below. Seems important…:
