X with a victory over UK 6-2 tonight. Big win
We've come a long way since my bench seat at the Fieldhouse!

It's the end of 7 innings. Not a win just yet, but Logan Schmidt had a good midweek start with 6.1 IP tonight.

Now 3-30 all time against Kentucky, yet for some reason is going to be the #2 headline on Victory Parkway tonight.

X entered the 9th with an 8-1 lead, but UConn was able to get the tying run to the plate trailing 8-6 with two outs. But that's as close as they got, and X is now 13-13, 1-0 with 5 straight wins.

Xavier won the opener 8-6 after UConn's 5-run rally fell short in the 9th.

Tomorrow will be a doubleheader with bad weather forecast for Sunday.

What should have been a 1-2-3 double play turned into an errant throw behind the plate; that was when UConn had the bases loaded and nobody out at that time.
