Now you are being nieve. I'm in coaching and have been for 18 years at the high school level for football. We new NIL was coming way before it did let alone what collegiate coaches knew. This wasn't a shocker by any stretch of the imagination. Miller used X and turned Greg Christopher into his rag doll. There is no sugar coating that.

The line about Miller always viewing X as a lesser job was so spot on it hurts.

Making fun of the catchphrases is great. It’s an interesting point, did Sean leave X worse off than when he got here? Hard to say no.

Just read the article, I agree it's spot on but it's really the judgement of what has happened to coaching across of all of college basketball over decades. What is really the cause of his ire is that now the players can do the exact thing Sean has just done. We are quickly approaching a world where the "normal" player has two teams on his resume with more with 3 and some with 4 teams. We are Conwell's third stop, he will have a fourth.
Teams with lower NIL spend will see less and less continuity going forward. I forget the poster, someone on here said they never bothered to learn about Lewis and Forsythe until they showed up. That is spot on, at what point is it where we don't really get to know the team at all. We know it will be 6-8 new guys every year.

Sort of a loaded question.
Is it better for next season than the season he inherited? Certainly not.
Are we in a better spot nationally speaking having made the tourney (eye balls and attention to the program) and having made a Sweet 16 then the previous 4 seasons where we missed the tourney? I'd say yes.
I think the expectation was he would take us back to the pre Steele era which certainly did not happen."I知 willing to sacrifice everything for this team. I知 going to dive for every loose ball, close out harder on every shot, block out for every rebound. I知 going to play harder than I致e ever played. And I need you all to follow me." -MB '17
