I'd like their AD, he has hired 3 straight fantastic coaches.

    Hilarious!

I’m not talking about where the players started. I’m talking about where the players finished.

David West was never a mid major player. I could rattle off 20 XU guys that fit that description.

Jason Carter was a mid major player. And Foster. And McKnight. And Maddox.

Taking the best mid major guys each year and swapping them with the worst high major guys is just making the pirates be the minor league team for the Yankees.

It used to be that the “big schools” would get first dibs on the best players coming into college. And that way easy.

But the little guys, like XU in the 80s / 90s would thrive on finding a Hill or Grant or Williams or Gladden or Brown or posey or you name it.

Those guys don’t stay. Just ask swain.

Swain hitting the portal I’d assume because Sean left. Right?

Let’s have some fun for old times sake friends:

Private jet (RJE38) has been sitting in Naples since 3/20. It is leaving Naples this afternoon, 3/25, arrives in Charleston at 2:34pm. Is on the ground for 1 hour. Leaves Charleston at 3:30pm and arrives at Lunken at 4:43pm.

Jet owned and operated by Reynolds Jet Management based out of Cincinnati.

Take it to the bank. Flight tracking season. lol.

I do not know what the next X head coach can do to keep Fletcher, Hugley, Swain, Anderson, and Conwell. It is not an ideal situation.
I do think whoever is the next coach, he will have to load up on at least 10 transfers.

I am not a gigantic Mack fan but I will hope he can change my mind.

I would be excited IF Swain, Conwell, Fletcher, Lewis, and Anderson all stayed at X. Not going to happen though.

There is only one logical hire at this point in time for our school. It's Chris Mack in a landslide. Who cares any more IF he bolts in a few years. That would mean he kicked ass. Worry about next steps then if it happens.

Mack is a proven commodity who we KNOW will have success with our program and conference. He has a high floor and I would argue a reasonably high ceiling. The key here is high floor. I don't want some new coach with a high ceiling but a low floor to step foot here. We should all be incredibly grateful that the interest from Mack is mutual, because anyone else is going to bring legitimate PTSD Steele like concerns.

Sign Mack TODAY and don't waste any more time, this is a NO BRAINER hire.

Sounds like it’s Mack announced either today or tomorrow. I’m glad. He’s the known commmodity. Yeah he screwed us last time, but for a top ten historical program and his wife’s entire family lives there.

Will he leave again? Yeah probably. But so will every other coach. Give us five years, a couple of second weekends and a big fuck you to miller in the tourney again and I’m good

In an alternate world somewhere, miller got the Texas job after year 1 and Kelsey has guided us to the sweet 16 this year with a chance at a final four
