Minnesota has fired Ben Johnson, but they did so in an exceptionally crazy way.
Minnesota AD Mark Coyle is on the selection committee. The selection committee is currently meeting in Indianapolis. The Big Ten Tournament is also in Indianapolis. So, rather than getting into a car and making the short drive across town, Mark Coyle opted to wait until the team had flown back to campus, then he left the committee so he himself could fly back to campus and announce the firing at 2:19am. He then got back onto a plane, flew back to Indy, and resumed his duties with the committee.
This is who is selecting the field!!

Waste of resources there, nothing opening up has me that worried that Sean would leave. No spot is both better than X AND the same or lower expectations. Some even have some ridiculous expectations.

I like Sean, I like Sean a lot, and was so extremely pumped when he came back, but it’s a different world. If he ever leaves, whatever. He’s not exactly killing it, and I think his greatest attribute (development) basically gets lost in this era, since x seems content going to the portal every year Unless they fix the portal or x goes the route of developing from within , I don’t really care if he leaves or not.

I think they’d look at Mack. I’m not joking.
I want Sean. Bringing a new coach in these days is way easier than it was with the NIL/Portal era. So in that regard, I don’t really think losing Sean is a program nail in coffin situation. Having said all that I don’t see him leaving anyways.

Report Texas Longhorns would prefer to move on from Rodney Terry.
"Texas Longhorns athletic director Chris Del Conte would prefer to make a change from Terry and find a new coach to lead the program into the future. The money it would take to replace Terry could stave Del Conte's hand for a little bit longer.
Del Conte already has at least three names that he is looking at to potentially replace Terry - Atlanta Hawks coach Quin Snyder, Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan, and Arkansas Razorbacks coach John Calipari".
