I'm more confident that X can win the Big East tournament than ever before. We beat all the teams except St. John's, and we had a chance at MSG. One thing that concerns me is the Marquette vs St. John's game yesterday. The referees reverted to the "No autopsy, no foul" rule. I'm not sure X can play that physical game of basketball. Also, since many on this board suggest that St. John's can't shoot, would Sean consider zone if we meet them?

I would not play zone against SJU.

Defensive rebounding in a zone is dicey. And we need to one d board and run on offense. SNU halfcourt defense is very good, and we want shots early in the possession before they set up.

Let them shoot in the half court force tough shots and rebound.

Kenpom says 5 Torvik says -1.5. If it's 4-5 i'm putting the house on X. I honestly believe X is better than Marquette.

Here are some interesting facts.

Xavier is just 2-5 vs Marquette in March since 2011.

1 loss is a very memorable one....the curb stomp they put on us in the 2011 NCAA Tournament....that was before the New Big East.

Since joining the conference, X is still just 2-4 in March....HOWEVER, BOTH of those wins were in the BE Tournament.
