The Left is outraged because of how Trump going to McDonalds was all a big stunt. What a complete waste of energy. Lots of things about Donald Trump are outrageous, but not going to McDonalds. Of course it was a stunt!! So f*cking what!!??

Two weeks to go! Betonline holds steady, while Trump's odds jump a bit in polymarket.
Trump -160
Harris +140
Polymarket has Trump with a 64.1% chance to win as of this morning. You can see current odds and the trend here: https://polymarket.com/elections

The people outraged online are the people that are already way too online that know the back story behind the stunt who are arguing with other people that are way too online.
The 30 second version of it to understand how insane it is from every angle.
1. Harris mentions that she worked at McDonalds at the convention.
2. Right wing shit poster finds an old resume of Harris from when she worked as a prosecutor that does not list her time at McDonalds on it (cause why would you when applying for a job as a lawyer).
3. Conspiracy theory starts that she never worked at McDonalds.
4. Trump sets up staged event in a closed McDonalds with fake customers to say he worked at a McDonalds.
5. Pundits go on right wing media to use this event to demand Harris release her w2s from the 1980s to prove employment (https://www.foxnews.com/media/jd-van...lack-curiosity)
6. Left wing then splinters off into a hypocrisy tailspin of one of the following flavors a) how can the right demand Harris release paystubs from highschool when Trump still hasn't released his tax return, b) why is Trump getting credit for cosplaying as an everyman in a closed store when he never worked a job like that, and c) he has no plan to help minimum wage employees.
The only thing I can guarantee is that no one that has not made up their mind consumed any of this except maybe picture of Trump standing by a fryer.

I think there's a 99% chance Harris never worked at McDonalds.

Ha, fair, but I'm very "GenX online". I think I'm up to like 8 total social media posts (tweets about my daughter's gymnastics). Sports messageboards were more my era.

I guess not??
I guess I'm also missing something. It's McDonalds. Why would anyone ever claim to have worked there if they never actually did?? It's McDonalds. I get why people lie about things such as...say...how many people they've slept with, or how many people they haven't selpt with, or whether they've been to prison, or their salaries, or how much money they lose at a casino, or how many celebrities they know, or things like that.
It's McDonalds. I don't know why anyone would lie about working there when they hadn't, nor do I know why anyone would lie about not working there if they had. It's McDonalds. It's so inconsequential that I just don't see why anyone would lie about it. What am I missing?"You can't fix stupid." Ron White

The ease with which voters are mislead.
Just like the big lie that the election was stolen, people were convinced Obama wasn’t born in the US.
(Despite a Honolulu paper announcing his birth when it happened there)
It would be fun if Harris found and published a tax return showing she worked at McDonald’s.
But just like Obama’s actual birth certificate, some people still wouldn’t believe it....he went up late, and I was already up there.

It doesn't matter even a little bit. It's just one of the fun, silly stories that happens when everyone gets tired of the campaign, there's no one left to persuade, and off we go. There's even a ridiculous news article here from the Telegraph on their investigative work to figure out whether Harris ever worked at a McDonald's. The verdict? Inconclulsive. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/polit...thing-we-know/
What would be the motivation to tell such a dastardly (okay, completely meaningless) lie? To lay claim to being a person of the people and sharing the experience of the low wage worker. I mean, everyone knows Trump never had any such job, but somehow he seems to be becoming the favorite of the people who are in those jobs.

I think he got the idea from a former dictator type, who also closed off the location for a photo shoot:
