11-06-2020, 09:40 PM #8554And the process worked apparently without regard to politics. A Republican city clerk supervised a vote count that wrongly gave victory to a Democrat, after which a Democratic county clerk's staff caught the error and requested a correction from the Republican city clerk, handing the win to a Republican.

MAYBE he did. I know that's what the exit polls say, but I don't think you can really say for sure because the exit polls don't account for early voting or mail in voting. I'm not going to say that it's certain that he didn't, but I also don't think you can say for certain that he did. It is at least very fair to guess that most Blacks and Hispanics who voted for Biden voted by mail. I think you have to put a big asterisk by any exit poll data you see from this election.

It seems kind of curious that so many Republicans won down ballot races that they were expected to lose. They need to look and see if there was fraud or glitches in the computers.
The Republicans did way better than expected, and the presidential race was closer than expected. I’m not saying that the voting procedure should not be highly scrutinized because, quite frankly, it always should be. But I am saying that the Dems probably have more reason to be suspicious of fraud than the Reps do. Look at how many outcomes that were expected to go their way ended up going the other way.
Now, to be clear, I don’t think there was fraud. I don’t think the Dems have any actual basis to claim fraud. I just think the Reps have even less basis to claim it than the Dems do.Last edited by xubrew; 11-07-2020 at 07:38 AM.

I'm struck by what seems to be a reality disconnect.
Trump is constantly harping on "stop the count." Being behind, he should want to keep counting to catch up.
And that's possible. For example in Georgia where they are finishing up counting military votes from overseas which arrived after Nov 3rd, but were sent before that date.
Slowing the postal process only helped to impede votes that might help him from the suckers and losers.
And in Arizona (I think) where Biden's lead keeps shrinking as more and more votes are counted.
If we had direct election, the 4 million vote lead Biden has would have let us put this all behind us.
And I'm still not sure who's going to win....he went up late, and I was already up there.
