I would not play zone against SJU.

Defensive rebounding in a zone is dicey. And we need to one d board and run on offense. SNU halfcourt defense is very good, and we want shots early in the possession before they set up.

Let them shoot in the half court force tough shots and rebound.

Interesting odds for the tournament. St. John's is +140 to win it, and Marquette, Creighton and UConn are all between +400 and +450. Then Xavier at +1000
Just interesting the perceived separation still between X and those three.

Also suggests Xavier will be a significant dog on Thursday. 4 or 5 points?

Kenpom says 5 Torvik says -1.5. If it's 4-5 i'm putting the house on X. I honestly believe X is better than Marquette.

Here are some interesting facts.

Xavier is just 2-5 vs Marquette in March since 2011.

1 loss is a very memorable one....the curb stomp they put on us in the 2011 NCAA Tournament....that was before the New Big East.

Since joining the conference, X is still just 2-4 in March....HOWEVER, BOTH of those wins were in the BE Tournament.

Now that the bracket is set… screw it x vs UConn in the final and x cuts down the nets, winning essentially two road games along the way and spoiling all the northeasters fun.

I think Xavier is gonna win this!!!! I really do!! This week could be a hell of a ride!!!
