    Yeah, but...who cares??

I guess I can see how it's funny. I guess the fact that's it's even an issue at all is kind of funny. Getting defensive and self conscious over something so unimportant is kind of funny. But, a lot of people get defensive and lie about their weight. I for one weigh about 20 pounds more than I'd like to. I've lost weight before, but I've always managed to find it again.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia --- a name to remember. This is the man sent to an El Salvador prison on the phony charge of being a gang member. Lower courts and now the Supreme Court stated the Trump administration needed to "facilitate" his return to the US. Trump is openly defying the Supremes.
To my conservative friends I ask, "What is your position when a President refuses to obey an order of the SC?" Does such an action warrant impeachment? If not, what does it warrant? Or, will you continue to say "the end justifies the means" in the case of Trump? A constitutional crisis is here. No more putting heads in the sand, conservatives. You reap what you sow.

It's an interesting case, and I'm definitely interested to see how it plays out, but the catastrophisizing of everything Trump related is a bit unnecessary, and you'd think people would be tired of doing it by this point. Remember the "walls are closing in" meme from his first administration? More of the same.

Now, I don't at all like the handling of this case. I support some level of due process before people are deported, and sending the guy who may or may not be a member of a dangerous gang off to a notorious prision isn't great. However, as I understand the facts of the case the guy was illegally in the United States and is a citizen of El Salvador. Now he's a citizen of El Salvador living in El Salvador. That's the result we want if not exactly the right process.

By the way, this Bukele guy is a little bit nuts, but El Salvador needed a little bit nuts based on where it was when he got started. According to WSJ: "Bukele has become a global right-wing icon because of his aggressive crackdown on El Salvador’s gangs, which has turned what was once the murder capital of the world into a country safer than Canada. He has done so by ruling under emergency powers that suspend crucial civil liberties, including due process, since 2022." I wouldn't want that for us, but I can certainly see the appeal for the average man, woman and child in El Salvador.

By the way, no matter what you believe of the merits of such an effort, Trump will 100% be subject to at least one pointless impeachment process during the second half of this administration. He'll set a record that will not be broken until the second two years of President Stephen A. Smith's administration.

Trump to Bukele: "Home-growns are next. The home-growns. You gotta build about five more places. It's not big enough."

...and then they came for me.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

The demoncraps are likely paying off judges. It is a crime syndicate after all.

Trump will fight being able to return anyone here illegally. Rightly so.

Waggy: I suggest you read the article in the Apr. 10, 2025 edition of Time magazine to learn about Mr. Garcia. He has consistently maintained he is/was not a gang member; the government has never produced evidence that he is/was. ICE & the assorted Trump toadies are determined to ignore a clear ruling from the US Supreme Court to get him back here. What don't you understand about our system of government?

He's still here illegally whether he is a gang member or not.

It’s definitely interesting. He was here illegally, but was granted protection from deportation by an immigration judge. Those two things seem to be in direct opposition to one another.

A judge ordered that he be returned, the SCOTUS upheld the ruling, but only sort of.

And, at this point, what can Trump really do? Now, I understand that if Trump actually wanted him released, and asked Bukele to release him, Bukele would probably do it. I also understand that Trump doesn’t really seem to care if he’s released or not. But, say he did care, and say Bukele didn’t want to release him. Could Trump really do anything?
