He had JT Toppin, Donovan dent, and John Tonje all on his roster at one point this offseason. Tomje and Toppin went on to be all Americans, dent is the number one portal player.

This year, NM beat ucla, VCU, CSU twice, Marquette. They gave MSU all they can handle. All while losing two transfers that turned out to be All Americans.

NM is physical. Will be nice change.

Honestly, I have hyped myself up for this hire. I love it now. Fanta loves it and got me hyped too.

Fresh start, new blood. Lower floor than Mack I think, however it comes with a higher ceiling.

Pitino is young. He's going to be motivated.

X is going to get National attention from this. Pitino vs Pitino is going to be theater.

Can you imagine if he can get Dent to come with him? That dude with be a POY candidate. Hope we can get him.

Pitino is 42, Mack is 55. Mack made the huge money and got a huge buyout, Pitino hasn’t. Pitino got New Mexico to the tourney 2x, Mack did not make the tourney at Charleston. Charleston seems like a retirement job, Pitino has a lot to prove. Pitino was rumored to Villanova and West Virginia. We are certainly not giving up, we are going for it.

Totally agree. This is why I think the ceiling is higher.

I think there are real concerns with Mack's motivations and his "All In(ness)" on the portal/recruiting that needs to be done.

Not that it’s a bad thing but pitino will be gone within 3-4 years. Whether it’s from being fired or going to a bigger job. Hopefully, it’s at least to a bigger job

If its because he is fired, we'll be looking for a new AD as well. So at least theres that.

Yeah you’re probably right. I was being a little sarcastic but who knows. I got a feeling we are gonna have another tourney year this year. I think this guy is young and coming in hungry. His name alone might even bump up the nil to stick it to Miller lol. Jk on the last part.
