This, but like one guy has won at Minnesota in 30 years. The guy has done very well at NMU, but this hire seems a tad underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, Mack was a safe hire but let's all remember the Steele PTSD posts. Well clearly there was some Miller PTSD in GC's head, this hire screams it. Could be Mack asked for the same low buyout and GC learned his lesson. Either way, we went younger which I like. Hired the ultimate slimeball's son, but we just had a slimeball leave. Can't throw stones in glass houses. Sins of the father and all that stuff also.

Pitino is 42, Mack is 55. Mack made the huge money and got a huge buyout, Pitino hasn’t. Pitino got New Mexico to the tourney 2x, Mack did not make the tourney at Charleston. Charleston seems like a retirement job, Pitino has a lot to prove. Pitino was rumored to Villanova and West Virginia. We are certainly not giving up, we are going for it.

Not that it’s a bad thing but pitino will be gone within 3-4 years. Whether it’s from being fired or going to a bigger job. Hopefully, it’s at least to a bigger job

Okay the problem with Pitino I have is if he has any success at X the next 2 or 3 years, I believe he’s bouncing to the Johnnie’s when his dad retires. I’d bet it was already spoken about behind closed doors but X wasn’t obliged to that conversation in my theory. Seems like another 3-4 year higher. I like it for now. Would have rather had Mack.

Well he used the #1 seed to get paid instead of preparing our players for the game. The option is the current Chris Mack after getting paid many millions to hang out in Florida who talks about retirement and is 55. I understand why we said no
