Watched the SucKS game last night and was disappointed they lost (sarc font…not sure why I have to add this).

I am still confused about the whole Jonathan Powell thing. The dude scored 8 points in crunch time. I realize he hasn’t been great all year, but seems to have a good feel and IQ for the game as a freshman. I have no doubt he would have given us some solid bench minutes this year. Oh well, the whole hindsight 20 20 thing.

He wanted guaranteed minutes, Sean wouldn't do that. WVU was able to promise him those minutes.

No thanks, personally, but I can certainly see how he stays employed.
It's my understanding that his players and staff actually like him. For the most part they've always seemed to. I don't see why, but then again I don't see what they see. I just see what's on TV, and that usually isn't something that's good. He wins, and he doesn't have any real history of getting into trouble with the NCAA. Granted we are now in the era of that not mattering anymore because there are basically no rules any more, but when there were rules he appeared to actually follow them.

He's TERRIBLE with the press. At least he is if not looking like a complete and total dipshit is at all important to him, but maybe it isn't. But it's also hard to not notice that going back as far as Murray State, every time he's gone off in the press, his players have responded. And it actually has me wondering if it's more of a tactic than a genuine 4-year-old type of tantrum.

I understand the need for minutes and Sean wouldn’t guarantee and WVU had them. But I also think Sean wanted to redshirt him off the bat? Assuming this was best for both sides to part ways?

I believe this to be the case.

By complete chance I ended up next to him at a UC event I was invited to for work & he treated the fans terrible, just a real a-hole. If Sean Miller treated me the way Cronin treated those donors I might give up my tickets & stop donating it was that bad. I also have no idea how he recruits.

Most basketball coaches are assholes. I don't have an exact theory as to why. I just know that the majority of them are. Not all, but most. Some just have a better sense of the times they need to pretend they're not assholes than others.

I don’t get this at all. We give Roddy Anderson a scholarship and NIL money and take on a project to fix his shot. We also get Green to stay, but obviously had an agreement in place to let him quit on the team while we facilitate a sham medical redshirt for him.

But we can’t make any concessions to avoid a stud freshman from backing out of his commitment on the brink of the season.

    Head scratcher.
