Not to get too philosophical about this, but I think the Dems (like a lot of other things) main focus is to protect their own existence. To realize things have changed would mean they would also have to change, and in some cases they would have to be pushed aside, and they simply don't want that. The dinosaurs never want to just go away quietly.
I'm really bothered by all this. And, what bothers me even more is that I'm starting to realize there just aren't many people like me out there. I don't feel any differently about anything than I did yesterday. I don't like one side and hate the other. I'd like it to be where everyone just thinks of us being different shades of purple than all in on red or all in on blue, but no one else really feels that way. Even the bluest states have more than 1/3rd of its people voting for Team Red and vice versa.
Here's a major issue I have with Trump. How many of his former associates have been successful due to their association with him?? He had a successful TV program that I suppose was good for the network and the producers. Has there really been anything else?? When you look at a guy like Mark Cuban you see how he has helped make other people successful, and other businesses successful. When you look at Trump, who has he made successful?? What former associates are coming out to support him and saying he played a role in making their lives and their businesses better?? Where are these people?? A lot of his former businesses and projects didn't succeed. A lot of people who were invested in those businesses and projects lost their jobs. A lot of contractors he's worked with didn't get paid. It seems like the guy is incredibly radioactive. Even when he was last in office, just look at how many people that were in his orbit and under his direction either lost their jobs, or their money, or even their freedom. Yet, that's who we just elected. AGAIN!!
He lies, and he cheats, and he runs over anyone that's in his way even if they're on his team, and yet he continues to be rewarded for it. Yes! That bothers me! I think outside of his "fans" almost no one that's actually been associated with him has anything good to say about that association. His former vice president sure as hell doesn't. Shouldn't that tell people SOMETHING?? And, for the people that are his fans, I think he looks at them as nothing more than people who can elevate him to power and that he can grift money off of when he puts his name on stuff. Outside of that, he doesn't care about them. Most in his inner-circle have said flat out that he talks about how he doesn't even like them.
But, that's who we elected. Again. That's how it works. He won the popular vote, and he won/will win the electoral college. It was up to the Dems to stop him, which shouldn't have been hard to do at all, but they didn't. And a big reason why they didn't is because they somehow thought that lashing out against The Right would be a much more effective strategy than trying to win them over, and they continued to go off on half-cocked batshit ideas like how men can get pregnant and how terrorist organizations such as Hamas deserve our sympathy and support, and that Trump and his supporters were Nazis. And, people like that shouldn't be leading the country either.
I recently said that I felt Donald Trump belonged in prison...and I do. I also said that even though I felt that way, I also felt The Left deserved to lose to him and would lose to him. And, they did.
I'm sorry, but I just don't feel good about that. I don't see how anyone really could?? No one should really be happy about anything right now.

Do you feel that we've done either one of those things in the last two years?? Was it ever really about that for the leaders who pushed this through, or did they just use it to garner more political support for themselves??
I'm assuming many people who want to protect life don't realize that in 2023 there were more abortions carried out than (I think) there had been in any of the previous ten years. Now, you have to think it through, but it actually does makes some sense how turning over Roe v Wade seems to have protected neither women nor life like so many people thought it would. If someone truly is pro-life, and I believe that many people are, then the focus needs to be on just that. Lowering the number of abortions and doing more to help the mothers. Overturning Roe v Wade clearly did neither of those things...

The last sentence sums up how the left got completely crushed last night. The inability to recognize someone else's point of view, coupled with condescending snark is not a winning strategy. Instead of asking 'why', you go with 'how can you live with yourself'. This type of rhetoric and nose thumbing to 70 million Americans is exactly what created Donald Trump in the first place and continued to fuel his second rise to power.

From Bill Ackman:
@BillAckman
"If the election outcome is as I expected, it should cause the large minority of the country who supported @KamalaHarris and predicted her victory to begin to question their sources of truth.
When the story of this election is written, I expect it will be as much about how half of America woke up to the reality that they have been manipulated by the media. This should lead to an abandonment by many of the MSM as their primary source of information. It will push more people to @X, to podcasts and other empirical sources, and it will lead to a more informed public."

It’s truly amazing how delusional people on this board continue to be….. Continuing to hold wholly misinformed opinions as truth.

A perfect example of wholly misinformed people on this board right here.... Our very own “I’m smarter than every teacher and professor I ever had” made this bold prediction… despite Trump having a consistent ~2 point lead at that very moment…. LOL….

People who voted "against the left" straight out say why they voted the way they did, and the message still doesn't get through. They can't understand why they people they thumb their noses at choose to vote against them.
Let me sum this up for those on The Left. They think you're crazy, and they don't like being talked down to. So, a guy like Trump that hits back as hard as he does is going to make them feel good. That's it. It's really that simple. If you want to know why so many people vote for Trump, that's why.
Now, does The Right understand why so many people vote against Trump??? The answer is equally as simple."You can't fix stupid." Ron White
