It’s essentially a new form of gerrymandering to meet a predetermined outcome. Isn’t it funny how a lot of the money in support of this is coming from out of state. Also funny how there are no similar issues being brought up in blue states. I’m sure their districts are gerrymandered too.

When I saw this I just laughed. I’m sorry, but I oftentimes enjoy a good grift. And this one is pretty incredible! And it just got even better!

I know Michigan was having similar issues with a citizens commission now drawing their maps. The Ohio Supreme Court rejected the state legislature maps on multiple occasions (at least when Maureen O'Connor was the Chief Justice). When she retired because of an age limit, the Ohio Supreme Court suddenly had no trouble accepting maps that were too Republican-friendly. And O'Connor wasn't a Democrat either; she was a Republican who simply had a more neutral strike zone.
What Issue 1 would do is make a 15-citizen panel consisting of 5 Republicans, 5 Democrats and 5 independents who are NOT elected officials. Ohioans do lean Republican about 55-45%, but not in a manner that would consistently allow for supermajorities in the Ohio Legislature.
To me, I think 2026 will be more telling when Mike DeWine is term limited as governor. Will Ohio go for another DeWine clone who actually acts responsibly or elect a Trump clone (i.e. Vivek Ramaswany) who's just full of hot air?

Before Biden dropped out, I didn't see any way that Trump would not win the election.
Then I went to think that he'd probably win, that that Kamala had a chance.
After the debate, I thought Kamala would win, and even if she had to sweat a little bit, it would only be a little bit.
I'm now back to thinking Trump will almost assuredly win, and while Kamala may still have a bit of a chance, I think the chances of a blowout in favor of Trump are more likely than Kamala Harris winning at all.
And, yes. I seem to flipflop more than most actual politicians do."You can't fix stupid." Ron White

This is just all kinds of dumb…
1) it’s batshit.
2) it’s absurd that anyone is dumb enough to believe it
3) and, it doesn’t even make any sense to try and convince people that Dems can control the weather!! I mean, as scary as it is to do this, let’s just suppose that the Dems could do this. How is it supposed to convince anyone NOT to vote for them! I mean, holy shit!! Anyone that knows how to control the weather has certainly got my vote!!"You can't fix stupid." Ron White
