I agree. I also understand that for people in their 50s and older, they grew up (and were even grown up) in a time when news media was a legitimate public trust. In their mind, it probably still is. So when they see something absurd either from the MSM or from social media, they don't fully realize that Walter Cronkite is long gone, and what they're seeing now ain't that at all.
I'm not going to say that I don't think younger people don't spend too much time on social media, or that they're never brainwashed by it, but they don't seem to be QUITE as susceptible to it either. Some of them are batshit, but there are seemingly more that know that the ones that are batshit are batshit.
People from our parent's generation all told us that if we watched too much TV we'd rot our brains. I think Facebook and social media did to them what they said too much TV would do to us. They see all this bullshit, and they don't realize that most of it is just bullshit. And while they acknowledge that the MSM is not reliable, they still believe that the MSM that THEY like is. A student once said to me that Facebook is where older people go to yell at each other. I've never heard a better description of Facebook in my life!!
The MSM is no longer a public trust. You have to question all of it. And...people don't. They question what comes from the other side of the isle, but they never question their own side. And, they need to.

Your "sources" are a bunch of diarrhea from the mouth x right wingers. How about a credible source like FEMA? The Director just said they are good until Dec. Using 2025 allocation and will get a supplemental after that 2 massive storms in 2 weeks Stand up for America not trump. and stop the 3rd grade name calling.

Proposed West Virginia resolution language:
That, the State of West Virginia will not recognize any election of the Democrat candidate for President during the 2024 election cycle if the Republican presidential or vice-presidential candidate is assassinated, seriously injured during an assassination attempt, incarcerated, de facto eliminated or barred from the ballot in any states, or is the subject of legal actions that preclude their effective campaigning …
I'd like to think a party wouldn't have a candidate that is a felon, incarcerated, subject to legal actions, etc...guess that's wishful thinking....he went up late, and I was already up there.

This thread is a real world example of what these scientists found out:
Furthermore, 74 % of all online conflicts are started in just 1 % of communities [5], and 0.1 % of users shared 80 % of fake news [6,7]. Not only does this extreme minority stir discontent, spread misinformation, and spark outrage online, they also bias the meta-perceptions of most users who passively “lurk” online.
