You couldn't be more right. However, Soros and his son have a very different motivation and are literally dangerous. Typically this "Dark money" buys access/influence to achieve favorable policy for political and/or business reasons. The Soros' like to erode American values and create chaos. They are very active and deeply invested in radically subverting our CRIMINAL justice system.

Can we agree that the objective here is far more dangerous than buying a political favor or government contract? Low/no bonds and light sentencing for violent crime is getting people killed.

Swaying one vote could be a huge deal. Now, while Thomas taking gifts and travel from Crow certainly looks bad, I don't think anyone seriously believes Thomas changed his views because of gifts from Crow. The two were already ideologically aligned.
But the appearance of impropriety can be just as bad as actual impropriety.

And yet we’re to believe big tech isn’t biased. Of course, Amazon is now saying this was an error that has been corrected.

Of course right wing influencers, sometimes noted in this thread, turn out to be paid through a Tennessee company, set up by Russians, to influence our elections for Trump and the Republicans.

You're talking about facts? There are no facts that say he's a threat to our democracy..it's ALL conjecture and what if's.
It's very telling how you refuse to address the checks and balances we have in place and continually refer back to the opinions of journalists and ex-staffers.
Personally, I'll rely on the framework of our government, our laws, and centuries of history that will show that one man cannot threaten our system of governance. You can feel free to continue to be frightened by Trump's rhetoric, while disregarding the measures we have had in place for centuries that have prevented what you actually fear.Last edited by Smails; 09-05-2024 at 02:44 PM.

I see these checks and balances crumbling, with a handpicked supreme court granting the executive far more power than envisioned by the framers.
And when a wanna be dictator gets them, we are in danger.
I'm just a retired citizen with these concerns. Why should you worry about my concerns.
You should worry about the people with far more knowledge of the danger he possesses, and when they say he's a threat, perhaps you should listen.
Many of them have no future in politics, or gain anything from their position. They care about our country. So do I....he went up late, and I was already up there.
