And the jury is still out...

Of the four criminal cases against Trump that are set to go to trial, the only one that has gone to trial is the one that I feel is the most ridiculous. He had sex with a porn star and paid her to stay quiet. Okay, perhaps that's not a nice thing to do, and I can understand his wife not liking that, and it probably is illegal to some extent, but to me that doesn't seem like the kind of thing someone should go to federal prison for. I know that I'm oversimplifying it, but my point is this is by far the least important and least concerning of the four trials. Who cares!!??

At this point the only goal is to convict him of something...anything no matter how dumb or damaging to our faith in the legal system it is. I'm surprised they haven't charged him with Mopery yet.

You're not wrong, and it is kind of pathetic how that does seem to be the only goal, but here's the thing...

THE OTHER THREE CASES ARE LEGIT!!!! WHY NOT PRESS THOSE!!!! It's been FOUR YEARS! And the one that they do bring to trial after all that time is that he banged a porn star and paid her to be quiet?? WGAF!!!??? Not the alleged insurrection, or the stealing classified documents, or a plan to cheat the election. Not those.

"Oh! We got him banging a porn star and paying her off!!"

    Uhhh...okay??

There are all kinds of videos of that type of stuff all over the internet. None of them are in jail for it. Nor should they be.

Because they knew they could hang him on a clothesline in NYC. I mean look at the judge that got 'assigned' to the case..it's laughable but it is what it is.

One can hope that the two attorneys on the jury acknowledge how poorly the judge has handled this case and vote to acquit.

Not to mention the lead prosecutor in the trial is former number 3 guy at Biden’s DOJ. Optics here are definitely bad.

Like you said earlier, this case will give a black eye to the justice system. And for what, so Joe can campaign on he’s running against a convicted felon. Also it brings people back to questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 election. Good times.

They are being pressed. The defendant is delaying the DC case with his immunity claim, that may be a claim in Georgia.
The courts (especially the Supreme Court are helping him in that regard)
The slam dunk case of stealing government secrets and refusing to turn them over has been delayed by the judge he appointed, so that it'll happen after the election.

The NY trial is vaguely reminiscent of Al Capone. I'm sure he did lots of worse things than tax evasion...but that's what they got him for.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.
