My thought on it is, who has the motivation to lie in this case? I believe that we can all agree on the group of people that do. Lankford isn't up for reelection for 4 years. He's just trying to fix the problem. Is it ever going to be perfect? No, but this is a significant step in the right direction...funny that quite a bit of the parts of legislation is what Trump was pushing for while in office.
Frankly, if this doesn't get done, it's another black mark against Trump and his cronies to moderate voters. He's probably screwed either way, but him and his boys should be used to losing by now since that's all they have done lately.

Gee wiz, even the link above indicates that this shit bill will still allow illegals to flow over the border. Amazing how the loser RINOs just don't get it. This doesn't fix anything.
This is an easy vote - hell no:
"Lankford says that's what the legislation will do by changing asylum standards, speeding up the hearing process, doubling deportation flights, expediting work permits, and allowing the president to shut down the border between ports of entry when illegal crossings hit a high level."

As I stated, is a bill ever going to be perfect, or what all one side wants? No. This fixes some current issues, ones in which both sides have wanted to fix for over a decade now. Both sides give some concessions for the betterment of the country, this is how politics and compromise should work.

Former DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson, under Obama, said on NBC that 1000 illegal border crossings per day "overwhelms the system".
We are now at 9-10K per day. By all accounts, this bill wants to limit that number to 5K per day.
How in the hell is that win for the country? How in the hell is that a compromise?
Most American want the border closed:
"The Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey found that 69% of likely U.S. voters support Texas erecting barriers at the border to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing, including 53% who strongly support the action." https://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...ost_voters_say
CBS: "With a total of 75% of Americans saying the border situation is in "a crisis" or is "very serious" – the change in sentiment is being driven primarily by Democrat and Independent Voters." https://texasinsider.org/articles/in...r-very-serious
"More than half of Americans (53%) in a recent USA TODAY/Suffolk Poll this month said they support the idea of sending troops to the southern border and ordering the mass deportation of illegal immigrants." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...n/72166240007/
80% of NH Rs want to "Deport millions of immigrants they believe to be undocumented": https://www.scribd.com/document/6930...#1fullscreen=1
Even The Hill has pointed out that this bill is a stinking pile of horseshit:
"But the blame-game is bogus and rests on a false assumption – that Biden’s bill would actually close the border. It is not true.
There’s a reason the name of the bill is the U.S. Citizenship Act — it’s all about amnesty and paths to citizenship. There is little about preventing illegal immigration. In fact, like most of the Democrats’ policies towards immigration, it would almost certainly increase the number of people arriving at the southern border, not drive it down."

Why in the hell do the damn loser RINOs and their minions fall for this shit every time?
There is no compromise here, this is not a win for anyone other than Biden. Jesus Christ, do people have to have their faces rubbed into the shit to realize it's shit?

Lou do some actual reading and not just believing what you want to believe. Again here are the actual facts from the “writer” of the bill about what is actually in the bill, not internet rumor
https://www.mediaite.com/news/gop-se...election-year/
Your hill article, is not an article about the facts of the bill. It’s an opinion piece written by Liz peek who has never seen the bill but instead is talking about Biden’s bill back in 2021 lol. Talk about “falling for shit.”
I’ll believe the person who is forming the bill, you can choose to believe the made up stuff based on internet gossip.Last edited by Xville; 01-30-2024 at 12:25 PM.

Here's a fun thought exercise: who do you suspect is/was a worse human being (former President edition): Donald Trump or Bill Clinton?

One thing to think about with this or ANY immigration legislation; the law is only as good as the administration's willingness to enforce it.
