These idiots in congress can’t even keep the government from shutting down year after year. Yet these same idiots still get paid while other government officials don’t get paid during these shutdowns. I bet if these idiots didn’t get paid when the government shuts down that it wouldn’t shutdown. Corrupt politics at its finest.

Fascist who was cheered at CPAC is new Italian prime minister 100 years after Mussolini. Hope she doesn't reach a similar fate.

Meloni is definitely far right. I think comparing her to Mussolini is a bit of a stretch. She claims to support Ukraine and that she wants Italy to remain in the EU, although there is speculation as to whether or not those claims are genuine. I think her appeal is that there are groups of people in Italy that love them some Italy, and are afraid that the country is losing its identity. A lot of countries in Europe are like that. They love them some them and don't want the identity of their nation to change. Immigration is also a hot topic issue over there.
The thing is that the PM just doesn't have THAT much power. Italy is almost comedically bureaucratic, so any elected leader is going to have trouble getting anything done. When things don't get done, people blame them even though they've basically been placed in an impossible position. I don't think she'll end up quite like Mussolini, but it wouldn't shock me that if in a year everyone is ready to throw her out of office."You can't fix stupid." Ron White

Based on the people whose heads she's made explode, I kind of like her.

Speaking of explosions, this may not turn at well.
