BIG EAST Player of the Week
Jack Nunge, Xavier, C, Jr. – Coming off the bench against Cincinnati in the Crosstown Shootout, Nunge recorded career highs of 31 points and 15 rebounds in an 83-63 victory. He scored 11 of the first 13 points in the second half to help Xavier gain control of the game. Nunge shot 9-of-14 from the field. Earlier in the week, he had nine points in a 96-50 win over Ball State.

Love it.
It’s kind of funny how the media and those calling the game act like he is just this talented bench player. It’s so silly for anyone to pretend he is not one of the 5 best players on the roster.
I am convinced Steele’s decision not to start him was just an experiment that turned into a brilliant strategy to throw teams off. When Nunge and Free sub in for Miles and Hunter, it’s like Superman and Shazam being sent in to replace Batman and Robin during a fight against the Joker and his henchmen. The opposition won’t even know what hit them.

Dwon Odom BIG EAST Player of the Week
NEW YORK – Xavier guard Dwon Odom has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Creighton guard Ryan Nembhard has been tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Odom was the leader in Xavier’s league win against Marquette and Nemhard helped the Bluejays to a conference victory against ninth-ranked Villanova.

Dwon Odom, Xavier, G, So. – Odom scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field in Xavier’s 80-71 win against Marquette. He also had three steals. Odom’s scoring total was also a career high and came in only 21 minutes of playing time. Adam Kunkel Earns A Spot On The BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll
Xavier senior Adam Kunkel earned a spot on the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for the second time this season after scoring with 25 points, one shy of his Xavier career high, on 8-12 shooting in the win at Butler on Saturday. Kunkel also won the award on Nov. 22 after averaging 18.0 ppg in wins over Ohio State on Nov. 18 and Norfolk State on Nov. 21."We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

Colby Jones Named To BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll
Xavier University sophomore Colby Jones has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for his efforts in games vs. Villanova and Creighton this past week. Jones averaged 11.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals for the week. He led XU with 16 points to go with nine rebounds in the Creighton win on Saturday."We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

BIG EAST Conference Honors Jack Nunge
Xavier University junior Jack Nunge has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for his efforts in games this past week against Providence on Wednesday and at Creighton on Saturday. Nunge averaged 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game for the week, while shooting 66.7 percent (12-18) from the field, including 66.7 percent (6-9) from 3-point range.
Nunge scored all 16 of his points at Creighton during XU's second-half comeback, hitting 6-7 from the field, including 4-5 from 3-point range, after intermission. He also grabbed eight rebounds in XU's 74-64 victory. Nunge contributed 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in the 65-62 loss to then-No. 17 Providence.
This is the second BIG EAST award for Nunge, who was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 13. Xavier has had a player honored in nine of the first 11 weeks of the league awards, including two Player of the Week selections and seven Honor Roll selections."We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

Jack Nunge Earns Another BIG EAST Conference Honor
Xavier University junior Jack Nunge has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for his efforts in games at Seton Hall on Feb. 9 and vs. UConn on Feb. 11. Nunge averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals for Xavier's two games this past week, shooting 65.2 percent (15-23) from the field, including 45.5 percent (5-11) from 3-point range.
This is the third time that Nunge has earned a BIG EAST weekly honor this season, including his second time on the Honor Roll.
Nunge leads the team in scoring at 13.1 ppg. and in blocks at 1.5 bpg. He is second on the team in rebounding at 7.2 rpg."We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."
