That CARES act is the biggest piece of legislative garbage in history. Makes Obama’s stimulus package look fiscally responsible. And some people think we need more of this? How about instead we get people back to work and living their lives, and save a few $Trillion for our kids and grandkids. Just a thought.

Donald Trump is having what can be best described as a psychotic episode on Twitter right now. He needs to be taken back to Walter Reed and admitted to the psyche ward. I'm not entirely joking. This guy is not well. I know crazy when I see it, and he's freakin' crazy.

So, for those of you on the right, understand that you would not be supporting this guy if he wasn't your candidate. Once someone else from the Republican Party is in office, you're not gonna miss this guy at all. So, how about Mike Pence? He may actually have a better chance at winning the election. Joe Biden is running on the platform of not being Donald Trump. That's really all he's got. Well, Mike Pence isn't Donald Trump either! This totally takes Biden's entire platform away from him! And it ensures that we get someone in office that doesn't belong in a mental hospital!

I don't like Mike Pence, but when you're on an airplane that's about to crash, you really don't have to like the pilot. You just need him to know how to fly the plane. That's where we are. I'll take Mike Pence. Let's call it a compromise. The GOP keeps the presidency just so long as it is someone that's more mentally stable than Trump, which means you can pretty much pick literally ANYONE else. I will vote for every republican on the ballot if the GOP acts to remove Trump and replace him with Pence. I'm not kidding.

Agree. I'm all for "targeted" assistance. Like for airlines, restaurants and some other industries. But this omnibus garbage that Pelosi & Schumer are trying to put out there- that also basically bails out local governments- is trash. Sorry. Take care of your own mess, locals.
Enough unemployment extension also. My buddy owns a roofing company. He couldn't get any workers to hire while they were getting stimulus checks. There are plenty of jobs out there. The Unemployment rate keeps dropping to 7.9% Get people to go back to work.
And if they send me a "stimulus check"? I'm stimulating a local charity with it.

So the fact that the economic downturn reduced state and municipal revenues, and added costs faced by both states and municipalities (not to mention the direct costs associated with reducing covid spread) is of no importance to you? How about the fact that most states and municipalities had finally just gotten fiscally healthy after the last recession in 2009-2011? Also of no matter to you? Frankly, only diehard Fox fans fail to understand the basics here.

So the fact that the power-drunk governors (mostly Democrat), overreacted to shutdown the country, costs jobs, careers, businesses and livelihoods, thus causing a profound drop in state and municipal revenues, and added costs faced by both states and municipalities.
