On Saturday, James Farr makes his final appearance before Xavier fans at the Cintas Center. Xavier fans far and wide roar for the big man on his Senior Day.
I have long proposed a statue of Jason Love should stand outside the Cintas Center as the exemplar of tireless dedication, selfless sacrifice, and inspiring self-improvement. Perhaps Messrs. Love and Farr should stand as twin sentinels. Their arcs from seemingly hapless freshmen to legendary seniors earned the utmost respect and admiration from fans and will forever serve as inspiration for any player to don the Xavier uniform.
James’ transformation from a stick figure with two left feet bombing away from outside to the best rebounder in the country is nothing short of astonishing. He is the consummate team player willing to do whatever is best for his team. And what a team it has become with The Chin in the middle.

Excellent post! From everything I read and hear about that young man, he is solid. I will miss him, and would love to see him back here coaching bigs some day.
Xavier always goes to the NCAA tournament...Projecting anything less than that this season feels like folly--Eamonn Brennan, ESPN (Summer Shootaround, 2012)

Remy and James were at the coaches show and they do a very nice job handling themselves and representing Xavier. James said when he is done w/ basketball he wants to comeback to X and get his master's and some day be an Athletic Director. Remy said after hoops is over he would like to be a pastor. Both seem like they will try to play somewhere after Xavier.
They both told some funny stories of treadmill punishments for not doing proper block outs and Remy joked he seems to be on the treadmill a lot. Matt Jennings puts it on 12 w/ a steep incline and have to run for a full minute for each infraction.Zip'em Up!

We sometimes forget that even though these guys may not look like it, they really do come into Xavier as kids.....just like so many of us did. It's a pleasure to say that we have seen such transformations before, and I am very sure we will see them in the future. The Xavier Way extends far beyond just winning basketball games and championships, IMHO. It's much more than just teaching kids the right way to play the game or how to excel on the court. Xavier is a special place for all the athletes and all the students. James Farr, Jason Love, Matt Stainbrook, etc. are more visible examples of what happens everyday on the Xavier campus.....the journey from child to adult. I for one will miss watching one James Farr wear the Xavier uniform, but I can tell you that I believe with my whole heart that he, and all the others, will continue to make be proud to be a Xavier grad and supporter, long after their playing careers are over.

Reynolds will graduate this spring.
Congrats to him too!
He is a senior but has 1 year of bball eligibility left but at age 25 or 26 his days are numbered for a free year of college where he can make great money overseas.
