Okay, and your point is?? I said I was obsessed with college basketball. That's the only time I used that term.
I guess discussions about UD make people see things that aren't actually there. I never said anyone liked UD. I never said anyone loved UD. I never said anyone was obsessed with UD. I merely disagreed with the notion that they are dead to us and don't matter to us.

No one on this board is more interested in UD than you Brew. No one wants to keep UD in the conversation more than you. So please.

If you check the dictionary, generally the first synonym of obsession is fixation. So, this certainly appears to be a distinction without a difference.
But I'm still curious if you post on all those other schools' forums? I'm not trying to pick a fight. Just really curious. I understand you love of basketball and your interest in following all levels. But I think you're a little off base on this Dayton thing. Interest? Yes. Obsession(fixation)? Not so much....he went up late, and I was already up there.

Wow, really?? Well, I checked. Outside of this thread, which I did not start, I've had about ten posts total about Dayton since September. Two were talking about the guy who posted about UD being jetlagged due to their flight back from Orlando several days earlier, one was talking about how I thought Vandy would beat them, another was about how I didn't realize Vandy's best post player was out, one was explaining how we could classify playing all the local teams as an exempt event and get an extra game on the schedule, one was outlining all the things that have happened since 1981, one talked about how Dayton pissed off everyone in Canada because they had to watch them get their ass kicked by us and missed the start of the Grey Cup, and I had a couple talking about how I didn't think the game in Disney World would be intense because it was...yunno....Disney World. I have more posts about the strippers at Louisville than I do about Dayton.
I'm not denying my interest in Dayton. In fact I'm saying straight out that I am interested in them. I'm merely pointing out that virtually everyone else is as well, even if they say they're not over and over and over again. Doing that kind of proves the point in the converse.
Other than this site, I typically only post on a board if I know the publisher or the owner of the network it's on, so no. I spend a lot of time in cars, buses, airports, and waiting, so I do look at the message boards of teams that I have an interest in at the moment, but I typically don't post.Last edited by xubrew; 12-11-2015 at 01:05 AM.

Brew, this is nothing more than your opinion. We played them this year in an early season conference tournament: UD was going to enter into the conversation this year from that occurrence, primarily. We know they've been an historical rival. We enjoy beating them when we play them. We find them to be a punching bag mostly as a result of their collective delusion and sense of worth that exceeds their real presence in college hoops. So there is going to be a little more juice against and about them than an NKU, Western Kentucky, Mizzou, etc.
But we're now pointing towards Saturday as we focus on Xavier's primary rival and a rivalry that has garnered national attention and a certain amount of national stature, as rivalries go.
So, you've admitted to your interest in them. Clearly, you prove that interest by posting on their board as much as you do.
The thing is, you don't see practically anyone else here "interested enough" in UD to post on their board - at all.
You obviously have every right to post where and as much as you want. You have a right to your opinion here as you expressed it. But you're coming at as a person who spends much more time with "Dayton" rattling around in his head than anyone here, and probably by a wide margin.
I believe the thread was started with the primary intent of lightly pointing out the value to our positioning of VD winning at Vandy. Some comments were made otherwise.
And we're now on to THE GAME in OOC as far as X is concerned.X A V I E R

Yes, you don't see people on here who post on the UD board. Most people probably don't know anyone who has ties to the board either. Some here are obviously reading it, though, and perhaps more would post if it wasn't locked. A quick glance at the A10 board shows that a few of the X posters still post over there, and it is not at all surprising that they're "interested enough" to do so. I do find the amount of time some posters spend writing about how they don't care about Dayton to be amusing. And, as I recently discovered, this isn't the only site where they do it. I'm not condemning anyone for being interested in them or for enjoying rubbing their noses in it. I just find it antithetical when certain people do this, and then claim to not give a shit about them. And, it's not like this was ever dormant. It didn't just start back up because we played them in Orlando. It never stopped. And...that's fine.
General NCAA discussion is what I'm most interested in. Or, maybe saying it's what I'm most obsessed with is the more accurate way to put it. That's what I post the most about here, there, and a couple other places where I either know the publishers or others who are regulars.Last edited by xubrew; 12-11-2015 at 01:49 AM.

The point is that this thread is stupid and never should have been started. Are we going to start a thread anytime an opponent wins a game? Dayton went on the road and beat a (soon to be) unranked Vanderbilt team. Good for them. Why wasnt there a thread when Michigan beat unranked NC St on the road? Why didn't Alabama get a thread for beating Notre Dame or Wichita St?
