Semaj wins ROY; Taylor Most Improved

    Shannon Russell ‏@slrussell
So to recap, #Xavier's Semaj Christon was named A-10 rookie of the year and a member of the all-conference second team and all-rookie team.

And Travis Taylor was named the A-10's most improved player and a member of the all-conference third team. #Xavier

Seems fair to me, though I would have liked to see Taylor move up to 2nd or 1st team. I also love that the 6th man of the year went 0-15 last week against us.

That is awesome. Congratulations, Semaj and Travis.

The conference leading rebounder from Xavier is on the third team, of course.

It is some recognition, but almost a slap to Trav! He deserved more.

I can see keeping Semaj off 1st team - as a freshman he'd need to be WAY better. I don't necessarily agree with that but I can understand it. But being a senior, this is Travis's last go-round.

I wonder if this is a bit of a dig at X for leaving.

If that is the case, and even if it is not, goodbye and good riddance A10.

How is it a dig at Xavier for Taylor to be named third-team all-conference and most improved player?

Agreed. There are approximately 200 kids on A10 rosters and they had to pick 15 of them to make the top 3 teams. I can't say that their aren't 10 kids in the A10 better than Travis.
