I'd be pretty shocked, because he's X's number one option, and everybody knows to game plan for him, and is still sitting at 6th in PPG, there's plenty of time until the end of the season, but his rebounding rate is better than any of the 5 ahead of him in PPG (other than Kelan Martin), I also think where X is a better team than St. John's would give him a first team nod over Ponds, but you're right, a damn good amount of competition.

Trevon made the Big East Honor Roll again. I am biased, but not sure Bridges deserves Player of the Week over Bluiett.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Mikal Bridges, Villanova, F, Jr. – Bridges scored a team-high 25 points to lead the Wildcats to a 95-79 victory at Xavier and averaged 22.0 points in a 1-1 week. In the Xavier win, the junior shot 10-of-15 from the field and 4-of-7 from 3-point range. He had 16 of his points in the first half in only 13 minutes of playing time when Villanova built a 51-37 lead by halftime. Bridges also had 19 points and seven rebounds in a 76-71 defeat at Providence. For the year, the forward is averaging 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Naji Marshall, Xavier, F, Fr. – Marshall averaged 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 50.0 percent from the field in a 1-1 week. The freshman scored a career-high 20 points in a 102-90 victory over Seton Hall. For the season, Marshall is averaging 8.2 points and making 53.9 percent from the floor. He has won BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors in three of the last six weeks.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Marcus Derrickson, Georgetown, F, Jr.
Tied a career high with 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds in an 87-83 win at Butler.
Sacar Anim, Marquette, G/F, So.
Tallied a career-high 26 points and scored the winning basket in a 90-86 victory at Creighton. Shot 11-of-16 from the floor and had four rebounds.
Shamorie Ponds, St. John’s, G, So.
Had 26 points and a career-high 10 assists in a 77-76 win at DePaul. Scored six points in a late 10-2 to gain the victory.
Desi Rodriguez, Seton Hall, F, Sr.
Averaged 26.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Notched a career-high 33 points and had eight boards in a victory against DePaul (82-77).
Trevon Bluiett, Xavier, G, Sr.
Averaged 31.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Scored a season-high 37 points in a 102-90 win over Seton Hall. For the two games, shot 11-of-17 from 3-point range."We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

I don’t know how you justify not giving trevon the player of the week. Averaged 31 points on 12 shots for both games. Bridges was good against us, but he didn’t have the week that’s trevon did by a long shot. Is this voted on by coaches?
