Semaj Christon – Possible Junior Campaign

Hopefully the MODs don’t mind but I broke this off into its own thread. Obviously the other thread can discuss his NBA prospects. This one can discuss what might be a (potentially) very surprising turn of events.

I heard this weekend from a person that is typically spot on about this stuff that Semaj is strongly considering reversing course and returning to Xavier. According to this person - to this point Semaj has not hired an agent, met with any agents, nor has he relocated somewhere to begin training for the Draft. I was told he initially started exploring these steps but has since paused, and remains in the deliberation stage.

I checked the other boards before positing this and didn’t see anything shared. Maybe as the week goes on and the deadline looms closer we will hear more information.

If Semaj opted to return it would obviously be the most positive momentum swing for X since Dave West opted to come back… All things considered - $100,000,000 later - that doesn’t look like too bad of a decision for Dave.

I know this…there will be a beer or two knocked back in his honor if he comes back to X!

I have seen numerous posts on Semaj's social media of him training at the Temple facilities. Everything from ball handling drills, shooting, and lifting.

He must have read the thread here about his NBA prospects. And maybe David West listened to MOR's pleas as posted here and gave him a call as well.

More likely is that there is nothing to this and he's gone, but I appreciate the sliver of hope on a Monday.

Crolfes12, not to be a social media stalker, but it looked to me that Semaj was visiting former Xavier player Chris Cantino in Philly, working out with he and his friend. I think there is a big difference between doing that and having a real process getting ready for the NBA Draft.

I am all for a "Were you there, did you hear?" part deux.

Good point. I was wondering why they were together.

I don't get the Temple reference. Is this some kind of pre-draft meeting place? Does he have an agent yet?

This is the 7th of April...not the 1st.

I honestly wouldn't be that surprised.. More and more guys seem to be coming out, and the Harrison and Shabazz are doing Semaj no favors at this point.

The question I have, is if he does decide to come back (which I still don't think he will but worth exploring), then who leaves or what happens with the scholarship situation?
