Sasa Ciani had 15 & 9 with a 3 pointer for UIC today.
Siena's next game is against Miami and the figthin' Steeles. Craft vs. Ducharme!!
Kyky with 21 as FAU beats Oklahoma state 86-78
Today I remembered Tyrell Ward. He was the top Steele recruit that left when Steele was fired. It was him and Craft and Claude.
Miller got Claude and Craft to stay, but Ward went to LSU.
In 2 years at LSU, he eventually was a contributor as a Soph with 9 pts a game.
He apparently stepped away from LSU this month and hasn’t played, nor is he ever expected to return to LSU.
I don’t know any more of the story.
Just happened to wonder how he turned out

Found this. Hope he gets the help he needs.
Last night Gytis lead the [emoji304] Warriors in their losing effort vs. Tarheels: 87-69. Booking a dubble-bubble 16/10 with 3-5 from downtown!

USC just lost to St Mary’s. 71-36. Yo.
Claude was 2-7 for 4 points (0-1 from 3).
Transfer "Grades" as of 11/29/24.
My view on how its going for each of our former players. based on performance, and the choice of schools. VERY subjective. Weigh in...
Sasa Ciani- UIC (A-)
Averaging 12&9 on 58% FG. The level is kinda low and the team is 3-3, but he's putting in 20 minutes a night with some numbers to back it up. 3 blocks and 3 steals in 6 games shows he's still just a "body" defensively. And 8 assists compared to 15 turnovers seem to show that he's also the same guy that was part of our frontcourt issues last year. But this seems to be the right level for him. BONUS: 2 for 2 from 3. Wouldnt be shocked to see Ciani back on a power 5 team in a couple years as a rotation big.
Abou Ousmane- OK St. (B+)
12&5 at a Power 5 team. Starting and playing 20 minutes a night. FG% up 7.2% from last year (to 53.7%), and still a voracious offensive rebounder. Fouls down from 3.4 to 2.4. The team hasn't played a tough schedule, but he has managed to play his way into a key role at a Big 5 team. Shot attempts and points are way up from last year. Also, 3 of 3 from 3???
Gytis Nemeiksa- Hawaii (A)
Where was this guy last year? 12 & 7 in 20 minutes a night. Thats pretty good. 49% Shooting, 41% from 3. A little foul prone and some TOs in limited minutes. Not taking a ton of shots. Still would like to see some more assists (1.2) from a SF.
Dwon Odom- Tulsa (A-)
Not a good fit for Millers system, but he's effective. 13/5/4 on 54% shooting. 29 minutes a game. AND dude is taking some 3's now (25%...). 1.8 steals. very good A-TO ratio. AND he won the triple jump in High School!
Cesare Edwards- Georgia State (B+)
Another guy that seems to have found his level. Staring and playing 27 minutes a game, putting up 11/7.6. Blocking 1.1 shots a game, which is huge considering he had 5 blocks in 2 YEARS at XU and already has 8 this year. kinda fouls alot and has few assists. Doesnt get to the line. All in all though, he's found a place where hes a key player upfront.
KyKy Tandy- FAU (C)
The ultimate enigma. Still. Minutes down from last year 23 vs 32, and his scoring is down at that same rate (10 vs 18). Shot attempts are HALF of last year. 83% of his attempts from 3, but hitting 40%. Isnt getting to the line. Less than 1 Assist per game. Doesn't rebound. Doesn't turn the ball over (2 TOs in 8 games???!!!). I dont know what he does. Does he just stand in the corner? Certainly not living up to his transfer profile.
Kam Craft- Miami (B+)
17&3. Hows that! Big scoring numbers on a "meh" Miami team. Almost 42% from 3. Slightly more than half his shots from 3. Doesnt get to the line. Rebounding and Assist are negligible. Turns it over a bit more than youd expect from a guy that doesnt get assists. But all in all, he's scoring efficiently.
Kachi Nzeh- Penn State (C)
Maybe not quite ready to start at a B10school. 5 & 3 in 14 MPG. Really not alot of numbers to crunch, but the FG % is notable (56%). Seems to be fouling alot in limited minutes. Will be interesting to see if he can produce against B10 competition (PSU has played mostly cupcakes).
Dieonte Miles- Morehead St. (C+)
Maybe the poster child of the "Steele era", he still seems to be a project. 9&7 in 27 minutes per game. Doesnt block shots (.7) even at this level, and fouls a little much. Good FG%, and seems to be getting to the line more often. But hes a career 46% from the line. Pretty good offensive rebounder. Pretty much a perfect example of a guy that just huge and somehow finds himself playing college basketball. Limited athleticism and zero skill. But starting and playing at a level that seems right for him.
Reid Ducharme- Sienna (C-)
Still not cracking a staring lineup after dropping down. Putting up 6&1 in 18 minutes. I didnt realize .3 assist was possible (2 in 7 games). 66% of FG attempts from 3 where he is shooting 23%. Fouling too much as well. Fringe D1 player at this point.
Des Claude- USC (C-)
He's been underwhelming on a USC team that lost both games against decent competition. 12/4/3 stat line. 48% Shooting overall, 25% from 3. All of his 3's cam in one game and hes not really taking them. minutes are down to 28 per game (vs 34 last year), but shot attempts are way off (8 vs 14 last year). Hes getting to the line, which was his strength last year, and could save this year for him. Strill appears to be a one-on-one type player with 3.4 APG and 1.9 TOPG. Im sure USC didnt expect a five PPG drop off when they signed his as their jewel of the transfer class....
Lazar Djokovic- Charleston (C)
Starting and Playing 25 a night. 9&5 stat line. Same as last year, not much else. 1 APG, 2.5 Fouls, 1.7 TOs. But, his steals (.6) and blocks (1.1) have increased. Needed that last year. Overall FG % is very good at 55%, but hes not really getting to the line (3FTA per game). Very good Orebounding (2 per game). Has not yet made a 3 (0 for 10).
Jonathan Powell- WVU (B)
Hes a freshman contributing already at a B12 school with 23 minutes and 9&2. 83% of his shots from 3. Hitting 35% from deep at 42% overall. doesnt... do... much... else...., but the deep scoring threat is apparent.
That is all
