Other Big East Games

Since the top 5 seeds are basically locked in for the BET, it seems that none of Saturday's games have any real post season implications. X has to win or they're cooked....but other than that, what is there to gain by any team?

St. John's wrangling for a 2 seed in the Big Dance is a consideration.....another big road win might carry some weight on selection Sunday.

Marquette getting a home win vs SJU could also improve their seeding in the NCAA Tournament. However, winning in hopes of getting the 3 seed in the BET is kinda meh....the 3 will likely get Villanova anyway.

Anyone else see anything significant about the Saturday games?

St John’s can’t shoot. What else is new. Why they won’t go far in the tourney. They are a second round flameout waiting to happen

I would say it will have a lot more to do with the whistles than the lack of shooting.

They’ve been winning all year while not shooting. So not shooting in the Dance isn’t gonna suddenly be fatal. In fact, if they DO have a good shooting game it might be enough to knock off ANYONE.

Alternatively, they play a physical “hands on” style of defense and the BE is a physical conference in general. I suspect they get the benefit of the whistle in BE play.

I think with tighter refs and seeing some next level athletes in the tournament is what’s going to do them in. Some of those SEC teams and teams like Houston are just stacked with athletes. That’s gonna be a little different than putting pressure on Butler or DePaul or SHU.

SJ beats MU in OT.

I 100% agree. Solid team, but Pitino and ONLY Pitino, gets them the BE reg Championship.

However, are you sticking to SJU to win the BET? Maybe you just posted a SJU/CU Championship game.

I am more than sticking with UConn to win it....and beyond. They got it all and rollin'.

I could see 4 teams including x winning it. No dominant teams in the big east imo this year.

CU/BU have just combined for THIRTEEN "3s" in first EIGHT MINUTES.

Ashworth with 21 in the 1st half......7 "3s".

Oh, and they just posted 7 assists to go with the 21 pts....in the 1st 20 minutes.
