I think it's important for everyone to realize that no fanbase in the history of sports has ever overvalued their actual worth more than Indiana fans currently do. If I counted right, IU has been to the Sweet Sixteen four times in the past thirty years, and been past it once. Yet they think of themselves as a Duke/Kentucky/Kansas level program. They actually think the Big East is beneath them. In reality more than half of the teams in the Big East (including Xavier, I might add) are better and more accomplished programs in the post-turn-table era of Western Civilization. Sure, IU was pretty good back in the days when people still used VCR's and had no clue what a DVD even was, but since then...not so much! Not at all! They're not that good. I mean...when an IU fan talks about Purdue and legitimately thinks Purdue's program is beneath theirs, it's difficult to restrain from laughing at them.
