Yeah, 2013 was actually a decent draft. I think this draft is loaded with upside, a lot of which won't pan out. 2013 was a draft that was lauded as being terrible and was actually pretty deep. I see some guys have star potential in 2014, there could and probably will have a lot of disappointment.
Semaj, I think is one of those players that teams won't see the upside from but in the end will end up better than a lot of guys drafted ahead of him.
Edit: I think he is gone. In one week's time, it will be official and if Mack and Co. keep going after one more guy we know there is a surprise transfer in the mix. Randolph would be my thought even though I really like the kid a lot. Any transfer right now besides Kamal is a disappointment to me at this time.
Helping the coaches or helping the program and the rest the remaining players? We all have to make decisions in life based on deadlines. The kids considering leaving for the NBA have had input about their potential NBA future for a lot longer than just the few weeks between the end of the season and 4/15. I have no problem with this deadline and I see no reason for an individual player to hold up the decisions the school has to make for the betterment of their program and the players in that program. If a player is unsure, then they probably should be staying in college but we all have decisions in life to make.
Do you remember the 2000 draft? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_NBA_draft
One of the most significant places for input is the draft workouts, which players don't really have the opportunity to do before the deadline. It's not an issue of simply having two more weeks to make a decision. It's an issue of being cut off from an importance source of information before having to make a decision.
