Trump is playing a dangerous game of brinkmanship with these tariffs. He needs the other side to flinch. I am hoping these are all the eggs that need breaking to make this amazing omelet. He is going to certainly hurt a lot of people doing it.
I agree with Xville's earlier post about the single job household of 50+ years ago vs. the two job household of today. Mine is a single job, we make it work but my austerity of the past before I was married led me to a point today where my house will be paid off in two months. Many didn't do what I did, didn't get lucky, or just can't due to circumstances they can't control.
Edit: Not humblebragging at all, also debt free of cars. That helps with two five year old kids. I worked hard, but got very lucky with some timely buying and a small amount of knowledge of cars to keep them running for less.
