Not to get too philosophical about this, but I think the Dems (like a lot of other things) main focus is to protect their own existence. To realize things have changed would mean they would also have to change, and in some cases they would have to be pushed aside, and they simply don't want that. The dinosaurs never want to just go away quietly.
I'm really bothered by all this. And, what bothers me even more is that I'm starting to realize there just aren't many people like me out there. I don't feel any differently about anything than I did yesterday. I don't like one side and hate the other. I'd like it to be where everyone just thinks of us being different shades of purple than all in on red or all in on blue, but no one else really feels that way. Even the bluest states have more than 1/3rd of its people voting for Team Red and vice versa.
Here's a major issue I have with Trump. How many of his former associates have been successful due to their association with him?? He had a successful TV program that I suppose was good for the network and the producers. Has there really been anything else?? When you look at a guy like Mark Cuban you see how he has helped make other people successful, and other businesses successful. When you look at Trump, who has he made successful?? What former associates are coming out to support him and saying he played a role in making their lives and their businesses better?? Where are these people?? A lot of his former businesses and projects didn't succeed. A lot of people who were invested in those businesses and projects lost their jobs. A lot of contractors he's worked with didn't get paid. It seems like the guy is incredibly radioactive. Even when he was last in office, just look at how many people that were in his orbit and under his direction either lost their jobs, or their money, or even their freedom. Yet, that's who we just elected. AGAIN!!
He lies, and he cheats, and he runs over anyone that's in his way even if they're on his team, and yet he continues to be rewarded for it. Yes! That bothers me! I think outside of his "fans" almost no one that's actually been associated with him has anything good to say about that association. His former vice president sure as hell doesn't. Shouldn't that tell people SOMETHING?? And, for the people that are his fans, I think he looks at them as nothing more than people who can elevate him to power and that he can grift money off of when he puts his name on stuff. Outside of that, he doesn't care about them. Most in his inner-circle have said flat out that he talks about how he doesn't even like them.
But, that's who we elected. Again. That's how it works. He won the popular vote, and he won/will win the electoral college. It was up to the Dems to stop him, which shouldn't have been hard to do at all, but they didn't. And a big reason why they didn't is because they somehow thought that lashing out against The Right would be a much more effective strategy than trying to win them over, and they continued to go off on half-cocked batshit ideas like how men can get pregnant and how terrorist organizations such as Hamas deserve our sympathy and support, and that Trump and his supporters were Nazis. And, people like that shouldn't be leading the country either.
I recently said that I felt Donald Trump belonged in prison...and I do. I also said that even though I felt that way, I also felt The Left deserved to lose to him and would lose to him. And, they did.
I'm sorry, but I just don't feel good about that. I don't see how anyone really could?? No one should really be happy about anything right now.
