My point is Dems are using their strongest issue to effect our National elections, because most voters do not understand Washington no longer effects abortion rights. Republicans, for some reason, are ALLOWING this deception.

It remains very much a federal issue that would be subject to federal legislation and federal agency action.
The Comstock Act remains on the books and an anti-choice AG, appointed by the president, could choose to attempt to use that law to prevent the transportation of any medical equipment across state-lines that could be used in an abortion procedure.
The FDA regulates drugs used in abortion procedures. This agency is also under the control of the executive branch and subject to federal legislation.
The federal legislature could also pass a national abortion ban or pass a law codifying Roe. Any hospital that doesn't abide by the law could see their federal funding stripped (which would kill most hospitals).
And then there is always the power to appoint judges who will interpret all of these laws.
Both Alito an Thomas raised the Comstock act in the oral arguments in FDA vs. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine https://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_ar...2-235_q8l1.pdf. They ended up kicking the case on a standing issue, but they seemed interested in litigating whether the mailing of mifepristone violated that law.
In my opinion, the 2024 election will only be legitimate if my preferred candidate wins.
The problem with the abortion issue is the extremes on both sides. You’ve got the far right wanting it banned in all cases without exception. You’ve got the far left wanting it available up to the moment of birth for any reason. I think most people would be in favor of abortion being allowed in cases or rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. I think they’d also be in favor of a ban after viability, or some other period of time unless it’s to save the life of the mother. Of course, neither of those will likely ever happen.

There literally are states that have tried or passed laws doing exactly that.
My own state currently has it on the ballot. It is a huge issue because many people either have had a medical necessity for it or knows someone who has had a medical necessity for it. When Pub laws are put on the books, doctors will flinch and delay to make sure they aren't breaking them. Delays can and will inevitably cause problems. Abortion should absolutely be legal. The best way to limit elective abortions is to give women hope that having the child is the best choice.
XUBREW, I am exactly the same way. I really only know the parts of the world I have travelled and those that I watch Cup qualifying.
