I get what you are saying I was coming from the angle of everyone having the same level playing field like the NFL. Say you have a cap of 5M to spend on a team, not everyone will use that or can use that much (Just look at the cap space the Bengals have had) but at least there is some framework around it.Quote:

One casualty of the "new era" is walk-ons in certain sports. The NCAA is limiting the roster size to 20 in women's gymnastics, and as a result some walk-ons who would otherwise remain harmlessly on the team but out of the lineup are instead getting the boot.
