Also, another example of collective moronic-ness were how many people would always say "Well, they'll never get rid of the bowls. Those things make too much money." Nevermind the fact that literally every team who opts to go to a bowl game LOSES money!!! I think we're about to see just how much money a playoff does make compared to one-off meaningless glorified exhibition games, and how much money had been left on the table for the last...oh...40 years or so.
This happened way too late. And, I still think all 10 conference champs should get to go and the field should be 16. So, it's not perfect, but it's close enough! It's certainly better than it was before! Army didn't get in, but they had a chance. Had they beaten ND they'd be in. Last year and every year prior to that it wouldn't have mattered. At least now the field is big enough that everyone has a path at the start of the season. No one is eliminated because of an assumption.
