Let’s hope the university has the intestinal fortitude to stand up to this and tell the petitioners to pound salt. The first link is an opinion piece by someone against Deters’ appointment as “justice in residence”. The second is an article from the Enquirer, which might be behind a paywall. Here’s a quote from the article that makes it sound like the university won’t cave.

Hell, I was a flaming liberal in college, but I sure didn’t feel the need to try and silence other views. Some of my favorite times in college were debating politics with friends.
