Can the Big 12 just be written out of the playoff this year?
Not only is it way better, but they are beating them more than handily, doubling the spread or more, when other teams are squeaking by or losing, sometimes embarrassingly. ND plays and beats more ranked and/or bowl eligible teams by a bunch. They are doing exactly what good teams are supposed to do....now....when it matters most.
The Cocks had a roller coaster season, but I fully expect them to be really competitive next year if no one buys their QB away to a more storied program.
Losing by 3 to LSU, and by 2 to Alabama cost them any consideration.
They also hammered A&M by 24, which should give someone pause to reflect on the rankings.
I realize there are a lot of Irish fans here, but c'mon.
A&M and UofL are their only solid wins....and by slim margins. Surely you are not referring to the 2 Military "ranked" teams as your examples of impressive blowouts? They have beaten no one of any significance AND embarrassed themselves vs NIU.
PSU has Illinois, several solid B10 wins and their only loss a -7 brawl vs OSU....not close.
USC will be significant.
Cool story from ESPN about the Texas band performance at A&M after the bonfire collapse in '99. I obviously remember the bonfire collapse, but I didn't remember this about the band.

Please tell me of these solid b10 wins that Penn state has? Illinois? Come on man. A&m and Louisville would both be favored over them by a td or more. Saying they have solid b10 wins is like saying nd has solid acc wins because they beat Georgia tech and Virginia.
Nd has the worst loss of any playoff team no doubt about that, but comparing their schedule vs Penn state and iu is no contest. Nd by a mile. Louisville and A&M are better than any team Penn state or iu has beaten.
I don’t even like notre dame, just using some common sense and objectivity
How on earth is Notre Dame ranked ahead of Miami and SMU, though? They both won AT Louisville, and neither lost to Northern Illinois!
