We're trying to transfer email accounts and if you signed up last year or even up until a week or so ago, it will be going to the wrong email. Here are the instructions on how to do this via PayPal. Failure to do this could jeopardize your Supporting Membership when it comes due next.

How do I cancel a subscription?

You can cancel a subscription up until the day of the next scheduled payment. Remember, this cancels all future scheduled payments for that subscription.

Here's how to do it:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click History under My Account at the top of the page.
3. Choose Subscriptions from the Show drop-down menu.
4. Check the From box and change the date back to the year the subscription was created.
5. Click Search, and then click Details.
6. Click Cancel Subscription.
7. Click Cancel Subscription again.

It's important to note that if you're recently "renewed", then after you cancel don't subscribe again right away. Otherwise you will have paid twice.

It looks like it tried to renew my subscription last week and failed because my credit card number has changed. Now when I try to follow the XH subscribe process, PayPal gives me an error saying "This feature is only available to Business and Premier Accounts." Anyone else run into this? Any hints for getting past it? This site is the only reason I use PayPal.

I just got an email last night from this board telling me my subscription is up, but if I remember last year, I got an email from Paypal (which I haven't gotten one yet this year).

When I go to the paypal site today and try to follow the instructions above, I can't find a "subscriptions" link in the "history" tab. I am hoping that is because I cancelled my subscription already and just don't remember.

I guess I will have to wait until a couple days after the end of this month to see if Paypal tries to charge my account before I go ahead and renew again the proper way.

ok so when I got under history, I don't have any subscription option - all I have is basic search and download history. I swear I remember going through this last year so where do I find this under paypal again?

I canceled when they told us to last year, then about 3 days before my expiration, I used the pruchase paid subscription feautre from the user control panel - it added a year to my subscription instantaneously.

I don't know if I even have a PayPal account anymore, but you're probably better off making a 1-time payment through PayPal instead. That's what I did earlier this year - it beats all of these junk emails that I keep getting from "PayPal" asking you to verify your subscription (which is more likely a phishing scam).

You shouldn't be. The paypal account for the site was switched, so that meant that anyone that signed up with the old account had to cancel to switch to the new one. If you did as you describe Joe, you should be fine.

Haha, kahns you don't have to do that. I graduate in may so by mid summer I will have my subscription renewed. Hopefully you didn't get double billed anyway. Thank you very much for the gesture though.

For some reason I followed every instruction to cancel the subscription and still can't seem to figure it out. Oh well, this site is worth $25.

Same here...it was even charged to a closed account that caused it to reopen and charge me overdraft (which they waived)

Fixed it. I had this happen with paypal once too.
