in heartbreaking fashion.
I feel great about this game. Pitt fans couldn't be more unlikable.
And to be perfectly honest, I can't see X beating the high powered guard attack of Villanova. And that's oddly comforting.

On the downside, might Dixon bolt to Kentucky or Arizona? I think after this loss that possibility might have increased.

Dixon isn't going anywhere. KY is a losing proposition, and he's got a good thing going at Pitt. KY is going to be lucky to find a coach as good as even Mick Cronin. It's the Notre Dame job with more headaches, less tolerance from fans, and boosters who feel entitled to visit the big dance every year.

I think your right. I've met Sean Miller a couple times at Final Fours (there's coaches conferences, so you run into everyone).
Of course, I was very polite. Miller wasn't rude. But you can tell that he was a little out of his element (In contrast, Calipari shook hands and kissed babies).
For a more private person like Miller, I don't think kentucky is a good fit.

I could see Dixon taking the KY gig, but I don't think Arizona has the same aura about it that it used to. Maybe it's because I'm in Ohio, but it seems the 'cats are just becoming another good team in the West.
As for KY going after Dixon...I'm not sure he's their guy. Up until this year he's had teams that many felt underachieved and some will feel that way this year too. I just think the Kentucky faithful would want a guy who cracks the Sweet 16 with "Major" program more than Dixon has. So, more than likely, I think he'll be back in Pitt next year.

Of course, against Nova with Pitt down 3, Levance Fields takes the exact shot he took against X and clanks it off the side of the rim.

Noticed that too. Forced a very rye smile and started shaking my head....

"Not tonight" I thought of Field's straight-on three clanker.
I'm sick of the Big East. I have a co-worker who is an Huggins apologist who will give me crap on Monday about X not being able to beat Pitt b/c they're from the Big East. I know, the desperate ramblings of another jealous UC fan but it bugs the crap out of me nonetheless. Therefore, I will be rooting for Michigan St today. I don't want to see the Big East get 3 out 4 spots in Detroit.

Third that. It reminded me of when Ron Lewis of Ohio State was unconscious against Xavier in 2007, buried that three to send the game to overtime and had an all-out brickfest in the Final Four.
