Wow, that makes me happy. Good to see that we played the best game of the day...wish we would have won.

Yeah, this softens the blow somewhat. Also, it's nice to know that X beat Missouri and Memphis. Wow

Yeah, watching the Duke game did help to ease the pain even if it did mean the Big East got 3 for 3 through to the Elite Eight last night.

We were just talking - is 23 the worst ever blowout in a Sweet 16 game, I'm thinking not but I do wonder how that kind of butt kicking ranks.


At least we showed the crowd a good game, shame we just came up a little bit short in the end.

And yes, we do have those wins over Mizzou and Memphis and you can't take those away.

Oh well, recall I chose Memphis in the XH Pickem, so last night just about wraps it up for me.

I was also reminded that Villanova is one of the 4 teams that beat Pitt this season, so the regional final in Boston could get interesting.

As I type this I'm sitting in the airport on the way back from last night. In the lower stands last night watching that game, there were a couple of things that were just incredible to me:

A) Duke's players are incredibly frail when they are compared to Villanova, most Big Greased teams and even Xavier. Don't they have a weight room down there?
B)Doesn't K recruit any big guys anymore? The guys they have are pretty much all 3's and that is what they always shoot because they have no inside presence, nor can ever establish one.
C) Duke's defense was milquetoast. Villanova did everything they wanted to do at any time they wanted to do it. Little resistance from the Dukies.

That was just a physical beat down last night. Period

That and does Coach K recruit any athletes anymore? Gerald Henderson is the only athlete on that team.

Does anyone remember when Duke was loaded with guys like Maggette, Dahntay Jones, Daniel Ewing, William Avery, Jason (Jay) Williams, Luol Deng? Even Elton Brand was a freak for a dude his size. Players like Shane Battier and JJ Reddick were the exception to provide some outside shooting, now they are the norm on that team.
