View Full Version : Trouble falls Nate Miles...and UConn
Allegedly, UConn committed some infractions when recruiting Nate Miles. Wow, nothing with this kid Miles can go down without a hitch.

This kid would have benefitted from the responsibilities X puts on its players, but I'm not sure that would have been enough, and glad he didn't come.

When did Kelvin Sampson become an advisor at UConn?

Xavier can't work miracles. Look at Dedrick Finn. Miles and Xavier were best served by parting ways.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Kelvin is going to watch this one closely. If the school and coaches get a slap on the wrist, his head may blow up.

New Yahoo Sports report accusing UCONN of excessive calls to Miles (1500 calls). This kid is trouble, thank God Sean and the staff parted ways. It stinks that this comes out on the eve of their Sweet 16 game..

My guess is that UConn (the program, Calhoun, assistants) gets off pretty easy on this. The NCAA seems to protect its bigger names, of which UConn is obviously one. Yes, Indiana is a big name and the program there is a mess, but they had different circumstances. Kelvin Sampson came in with a bad rep, IU took a chance, it got burned.
UConn/Calhoun haven't had that kind of negative press yet so the NCAA will let this one go. At least that's my guess.

I for one am shocked, nay, SHOCKED that UConn would ever be involved with any kind of recruiting violations!

This report by ESPN sport is mandatory reading or should be by every alumni, student and fan of Xavier basketball.
A while back, a poster on another board suggested Xavier needed all its alumni to contact the big center in Florida whose name I can't spell. The poster was immediately informed of his error.
There is contained in that story a summary of an NCAA rule regarding contacts. Forewarned is forearmed.:D

What I find amazing is that UConn has reportedly been back on the trail of Miles. Really? How on earth could they even think of bringing him back?
I guess it's the same kind of thinking that caused people like Boeheim to fight for Devendork, ultimately resulting in that ass clown missing only two games. He's a douchebag.
