I consider you guys the top mid major program in the country, right there with Gonzaga. We have our work cut out for us tomorrow.

Dear uw hoops,
The reason you are not being met with a bunch of "thanks" or "you guys are great", is because you used the dreaded "MM" phrase.
I am sure you remeber the a$$ kicking we handed you guys in 2001. Since that point, we've reached a status only a few programs can match. 2 Elite Eights, a National Players of the Year, 30 win season, 8 of 9 NCAA's, 5 round of 32's and I am sure my friends here would be happy to add more...
Althought we all appreciate your message, the only thing mid-major in this equation is your past few recruit classes in football.

I think he should be banned...he is just an idiot trying to stir up $%&*...
I think he probably did it on purpose because Bucky told him to. Either way I don't care. Thanks for the good luck and good luck to you as well, except I hope to see you on your way home come tomorrow.

Wow, didn't realize there was shame associated with being a fan of a smaller program. If anything, playing in the A10 teaches your guys to win, and your NCAA seeding benefits. Embrace it.

No indulgences for you, mister. You've angered the Pontiff, and I'm now sentencing to hell, Wisconsin style, where you'll enjoy your next eternity milking Holstein cows until their teats fall off.

Careful though, they might head to NJ and find a way back into heaven.

I assume you mean me, and I cringed when I saw what he wrote after what you guys told me in the other thread.
Damn, he said it perfectly as if you told him on the other thread to come here and say it. Well anyway, my bad shetown.
Can we stop bitching and start talking basketball please, I'm kinda tired of it unless the smack is funny.

banned for the MM comment but the comparison "right up there w/Gonzaga" carries death penalty specifications

Really? It never ceases to amaze me how some fans of big state schools have such a warped perspective/homer bias and lack of knowledge about the world outside their program. You certainly come across as one of those fans.
Smaller program? Read the thread started by the other Wisconsin fan. Xavier is a Top 20 program in value per Forbes, has a state of the art on-campus arena, gets high level prospects (many of whom choose X over Big Ten schools and other BCS conferences), is consistently ranked, and makes deep tournament runs, just to scratch the surface. There is absolutely nothing small about the Xavier program. Small school? Yes. Small program? Hell no.
Next, your point about playing in the A10 helping our seeding benefits is just plain wrong. Our 4 seed was earned in our out of conference schedule by beating Missouri, Virginia Tech, Memphis, Auburn, Virginia, Cincinnati, and LSU and also playing Butler and Duke. We got wins over Dayton and Temple in conference which didn't hurt, but given our 5 losses and the bunch of weak teams we played that brought down our strength of schedule, the A10 actually hurt our seeding, if anything. Stick Xavier in the Big Ten and I am fully confident we'd have at least an identical conference record, which would make us Michigan State, but that's neither here nor there.
Your apparent perception that we are a small program that earned a high seed by rolling through the weak A10 could not be more ass-backwards, but if you are in fact one of the kinds of fans that you come across as, I'm wasting my time because those people just don't get it. They have the warped perception that they are bigger and badder than they really are and don't take other things into consideration, such as parody. If you aren't one, I'm sure you know the ones I'm talking about: The Wisconsin fan who takes it as a given that since they're in the Big Ten they must be bigger, stronger, more talented, etc. than the small school in Ohio from the A10. You're not. You will find out about our little A10 program tomorrow.
If you want to prove me wrong, I'm listening.

Actually, I think even Bucky has to agree X is no MM but a perennial D1 powerhouse.

The fact is whether we like it or not, the majority of the country views X as a mid major. This perception will fade over time as the program continues advance.

One of my favorite movies. Speaking of Buddy Christ, back in HS I was the Religious Chair for SAC and we all got tshirts made with nicknames of our choice, I wanted to have Buddy Christ but it was quickly stopped as administration thought it wasn't very Catholic of me to have that on my shirt.

The Wisconsin fans have not tried to disrespect Xavier at all. We have disrespected ourselves by continuing to stretch this subject out. They are trying to give Xavier props but all of you keep giving them shit for bringing up the MM subject. We also have to stop bringing up the great wins we had at the start of the season. Ohio University had some great wins when they won the Pre Season NIT with Gary Trent and that didn't turn out that great for them. It's all about what you can do now not what did you do back in December. Teams get better as the season goes on and that is something Xavier hasn't done this year. It's this kind of egotistical attitude that has me soooo damn worried about tomorrow. Xavier will get the respect they deserve when they make a final four, right now we sound like Dayton fans. Lets take care of business tomorrow then talk crap.

"So they were sent to hell?"
"Worse - Wisconsin."
That's all you have to know about that movie for today.
