Don't know much about Wisconsin except that they play good D. I like the match-up in that I don't think they have any "Toney Douglas" like guards but I have a feeling it will be a tough battle.
GO X!!!!

Bring on Wisconsin. This game could get ugly real fast. They barely scored 60 points even with the overtime. They play defense and they will do what they do to get us in a funk. We play defense too and they don't score well. Man could this be ugly.
Pretty is as pretty does, and I think Sean Miller is going to the Sweet 16. My only hope is that Pittsburgh can advance far enough to meet us there.

I was watching the game on-line. They have shooters, that kid Bohannon was deadly in the second half. I think we'll match up pretty well with them, we have a little more size and quickness.

Our only like opponent was Va. Tech which we both beat in close games (they won @ Va. Tech).

I don't want to take anything away from them, but I'm glad it's UW and not FSU.
We can get into a land war more effectively with Wisconsin.
I just hope they are truly exhausted as pointed out earlier.

Let's hope whatever mistakes made them a 12 seed resurface on Sunday.

Honestly, it's been losing games like the FSU game. They had the lead deep in the second half in 9 of the 12 losses. So either you guys getting hot or us going cold at the end of the game.

I am always trying to find the silver lining in the dark cloud.
The in-conference doldrums Xavier got into in the latter part of the season can be attributed to two aspects, neither of which are good, but which do not apply to the upcoming contest:
1. the familiarity of conference teams
Since this is a reasonably quick turnaround for both teams - moreso for the Bad-gers, there will be little familiarity. This will translate into not recognizing CJ's weakness until he has 14 points.
2. games that really don't count
Think about it! How much did those late season conference losses really cost X? A 3 seed (most likely)...maybe a 2...(Less likely) maybe nothing at all (possible but not likely)!
I think the boys understand how much this game counts. Whatever Miller was not able to translate into the urgency of those late season games should not be an issue.
Go Muskies! Beat the Bad-gers!

3. A quick turnaround game on the road. In the cases of Duquesne and Richmond they had more rest, Temple had a few hours less. Dukes and Spiders games featured major breakdowns in our defense, Temple we just had trouble scoring.
I see a grinding war of attrition tomorrow. I like our chances.

Some quick comparisons based on power rating systems:
Sonny Moore:
Wisc: #27, XU: #29
Pomeroy (has XU winning by 1 point, 62-61)
Wisc: #31, XU: #21
Sagarin:
Wisc: #31, XU: #23
Sure seems like two evenly matched teams.
The ranking systems all have Wisconsin well above a 12-Seed (Pomeroy ranks Wisconsin higher than Florida State)

I don't know where the myth of us being tired or worn out came from. The team goes 8-10 deep and Bo Ryan prides himself in having a very well conditioned team, running a rigorous off season hill running program (a la Walter Payton and Jerry Rice).
A school in Ohio telling Wisconsin they have ugly women? Our cheerleaders blow, but the student body isn't outclassed by many. Some pop website rated it #17 in the country. Lots of blondes in Wisco. #1 Party school on multiple occasions. Parties need hot girls to be successful. You do the math (even a blonde could).
Not the most Earth shattering post of all time, but I enjoy clearing up myths.

Well we have Miami which has been rated in the Top 10 for hottest girls before and OU which always ranks nationally for party schools. Maybe a Xavier a tiny catholic school doesn't make these lists but to say Ohio in general is just ignorant just like most Wisconsin's fans views on their sports teams compared to non BCS schools.

I don't care what folks think of X. 20 NCAA appearances and 2 Elite 8's in past 5 years tells me all I need to know. Anyone is really knows college basketball knows that XU's program is one of the top 20 in the country (over the past 15 years).

Fellas, fellas. Relax. I grew up in Milwaukee. Cincy is very similar to Milwaukee but w/ better weather. Both great towns. For someone from Milwaukee to rip on Cincy is funny, considering Milwaukee has some serious issues w/in the city itself. Crime, poor city school system, race issues, lack of good planning in dowtown area. Boy, they really are similar.
Seriously, it should be a great game. Growing up w/ Marquette, I have never been a big fan of UW hoops. They have a decent program but most of their fans don't really know XU. I'm sure there will be a lot of "Eggsxavier" going around on Sunday in Wisconsin.

Uhh, Milwaukee is a dump and I would readily agree that Cincy is similar. Madison is nothing like Milwaukee - I would hate to think you guys think they're anything alike.
Back to back 30 win seasons is well above "decent".
