"South Carolina coach Darrin Horn said LSU's players will be so upset with their No. 8 seed that he pities top-seeded North Carolina, which will almost certainly face the winner of Thursday's LSU-Butler game.
The Tigers are so good, he seemed to indicate, that it's not even worth No. 9 Butler making the trip to Greensboro, N.C.
"I wouldn't want to be North Carolina knowing that I get LSU in the second round," Horn said."

Um... I hope South Carolina enjoys watching the tourney on tv.

A nice 0-3 for the SEC is in order here.

Coach Horn should be getting his team ready to win the NIT for the 3rd time in 5 years.

I think that 0-3 for the SEC is more probable than not.

I think that seed is more than fair for LSU. They really don't have any signature wins. And they lost to Vandy, Auburn and Miss State at the end of the season. They're a pretty good team that can make some noise in the tourney, but they haven't proven anything yet. That's pretty much your typical 8 or 9 seed. They do give some love to Butler at the end of the article though, amidst all the whining.
Horn is just an idiot and shoudl mind his own business.

The SEC.
HAHA!
Hilarious!
Hey, SEC coaches... shut up and go to your respective spring games. They should be coming up soon.
You're a "power" conference and your CONFERENCE CHAMPION has had a TEN SEED or WORSE for two consecutive years.
Why does the SEC sponsor anything but football and baseball anyway?

Hm, where have I heard this record before: BCS coach goes off on non-BCS program saying that there is no way said non-BCS program could compete against the likes of a fellow-BCS program. Oh, that's right I kept hearing that from Cronin, I see the South Carolina coach was just as succesful motivating their team into the NCAA's with those kinds of tactics. And like Cronin he tosses a program into it he has no control over, "Yeah, we suck, so we're gonna stick LSU on you, take that North Carloina!" Sounds like "Yeah, we suck, but our buddies over at Syracuse would clean your clocks any day of the week"
In fact his buddies over at Syracuse repaid him for that line of rants by cleaning his own team's clock out real good.
Somone needs to send that to Butler, talk about bulletin board material, "that it's not even worth No. 9 Butler making the trip to Greensboro, N.C" If it weren't LSU being dragged into this I'd wish that Butler would stomp em, but since its LSU, and we have the win over LSU and not Butler, I'm guessing I have to root for LSU in this one.

We're already in the NCAA Tournament and seedings are set. Cheer for whoever you'd like now. It makes no difference who wins and loses (other than Xavier of course).

What seed is Charlotte? Oh, that's right, you aren't in the NCAA. What seed are you in the NIT? Oh, that's right, you aren't in the NIT. Well, where are you in the CBI? Missed that too? Damn.
So, a "basketball school" that sucks at basketball has fans that are talking smack to a "football and baseball conference" that does have a couple of recent national championships in basketball. That makes perfect sense to me.

No. I just thought it was interesting that a 49er fan was talking basketball smack that involved a "body of work". I thought it was a bit like Rosie O'Donnell telling us that Brazilian models aren't as hot as they used to be.

You just had to bring up brazilian models...

I see it didn't take Darin Horn long to toe the BCS conference line and take up their "we're in a BCS conference so we're automatically better than everyone else" mantra.
Just last year he was coaching at Western Kentucky, one of the "little guys", and was probably sticking up for the non-BCS schools.
However, if LSU gets past Butler, I could see them taking down UNC, especially if Lawson isn't 100% and Thornton gets hot.

Just because she can't be a Brazilian model herself doesn't mean she can't form a fact-based opinion about them through observation and study. I'm sure there are a few posters on this board who have strong opinions about them without having actually been one, or looked like one.
I'd hate to see posting standards rise too high or this board will be limited to people who have coached or played DI basketball at the collegiate level for successful Mid-Western Jesuit universities.

Forming a fact-based opinion is one thing. Smack-talk is something completely different. the49er didn't offer an evaluation of anything. He just tossed smack.
Rosie is more than welcome to discuss the relative merits of models if she wants, but if she just wants to sit back and insult them, then she would be open to whatever comes back her way. That's how smack-talk works.

Sounds like the little kid who just got in with the "in crowd" after being in the "out crowd" and trying to impress his new group by stealing his old friend "out crowd kid's" candy.

I don't know. If I hire a marketing manager from a competitor, which I do from time to time, I sort of expect him to start towing the company line.

Imagine how pissed he would have been had Mississippi State not taken a bid away from someone like Creighton or San Diego State (or perhaps Florida).
And I know this will make our resident Charlotte fan happy - Davidson knocked out perennial NIT power South Carolina last night. Take care of your own house before spouting off about a conference that badly underachieved this year.

Imagine how pissed he is that he didn't scout Davidson and he allowed Stephen Curry to go off for 32 while beating the gamecocks at home in the N.I.T
