...the end of Churchill Odia's basketball career.

The PAC 10 has four teams that are locks: Washington, UCLA, Arizona State & Cal. They have 2 bubble teams, Arizona & USC. I didn't realize USC could be in the discussion, but if Arizona is, then they should be. They finished tied 9-9 in conference. Arizona has an RPI of about 54, USC about 61. The kicker is, today USC won its quarterfinal game against Cal. Arizona lost to ASU.

Oh, Churchill Odia played one minute, going 0-1 and doing nothing else in the Ducks 22 point loss to Washington State in the opening round. I know Kent was trying to work him into the rotation earlier in the season. I guess it didn't work out. I think Church did ultimately shock the world. In futility.

Honestly, its kind of sad. I can remember the day that X signed Odia and thinking that the Muskies had found a great player. Kind of a combo betweem Sato and Brown. Anyway, I wish the kid well. Honestly, I don't understand why people on this board begrudge him.

I don't begrudge him. I just took an opportunity as a powerful internet moderator to take an un-called-for shot at an amatuer student athlete. Meh, he'll be awright. I hope.

It's not that sad. He has a wife now and a college degree.

Anyone know if he's still married? I always thought he might have done that to keep from getting his visa yanked.

I never liked the way he handled his recruitment. us agreeing to a one-way binding scholarship offer, then having to bring Dupree Lucas in as insurance was a pretty bad scenario.

then he flirts with Pitino and Oregon State before finally realizing that we're his best option. His heart was never in it at XU, and turns out his skill and talent were pretty questionable too.

oregon was HORRIBLE this year, and he still didn't play.

Shock the world!

The greatest Clark Francis (of HoopScoop) call ever: Churchill Odia is better than Rajon Rondo.

Oops.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannd,

Sean Miller had Kyle Lowrey on the line to sign. Beaknose and John Groce insisted on Odia. Then when Beak leaves, Sean is stuck with a point guard problem and all the experts on the old board, when Xavier struggled in Sean's first year are calling for his head, or, at least, how Xavier made a mistake by not doing a "national coach search.'

That might have a little to do with the bad feelings whenever Churchill Odia is brought up.

I remember all the hoopla about his playing time...turns out he just couldn't play
