It looks like the Charlotte Observer didn't send anyone to cover the A10 Tournament. Here are a couple of links to the Niner Nation board and what the fans have to say: link (http://www.ninernation.net/forum/showthread.php?t=23022) and link (http://www.ninernation.net/forum/showthread.php?t=23186).
We are very lucky to have great coverage of our team from the Enquiere and should be thankful for it.

Maybe thefortyniner can cover it for them. He seems to have good wit and knows his stuff. He would do such a good job they would ask him to cover Davidson. He would then write the most amazing stuff on Steph Curry I'm sure.

Doesn't sound like their situation is any different than ours. Calling the Enquirer's coverage of X great is definitely a stretch.

Do we have a dedicated reporter that covers just us and a pretty solid blog to go along with the coverage? Does said reporter travel to all games including the A10 tournment? The answer to both is yes. It might be different in print but from the online standpoint, which is where newspapers are going, the coverage that is provided for Xavier is great. Sorry, Jumpy, just disagree with you here.

It's all relative.

Kind of a sidetrack to another thread here, but Charlotte wouldn't be a bad place to hold the A10 tourney. No idea what kind of attendance it would get, but at least it's warmer, and we'd get to stick it to the ACC a little. Maybe the observer would cover it then. And maybe not.

I can definitely understand your point, but IMO, great coverage would be the Enquirer covering us on equal footing with or better than UC. X has been the better program for a few years now, but we still play second fiddle to them. I know why that is, but I still don't like it. 9 times out of 10, UC gets the headline with color pictures while we get at best a sidebar, if on the front page at all.

If this is the case then I think it's a good thing that I just read it online.

We get great coverage compared to other programs in our conference. We got a great tv deal, radi spots and news. Can't ask for much more then that.
Oh, and we got a great fan out here in DC. Perfect.

Online, I think a lot of that is determined by clicks: more popular stories are posted higher on the list. So whenever X fans post comments on UC stories to antagonize their fan base, it increases the hits on that article and gets it posted higher.

I think the Enquirer's days are numbered. Newspapers are dropping like flies and the Enquirer isn't even a quality newspaper.

Well, considering Charlotte had a short stay in the tourney, doesn't look to be that bad of a decision.

Snipe,
As long as the Enquirer is as it has been for years the top money-maker in the Gannett chain, the Enquirer will be here. Paper getting thinner every day, but still the only paper in town. It's gonna stay.

It's definitely easier for my dog to carry in the Sunday paper now.

It looks like the Charlotte Observer didn't send anyone to cover the A10 Tournament.
Seeing as how Charlotte was shown the door in the very first game, that was a very good decision.
Pikers don't deserve to be covered.

MOR can't go a post without saying "piker". It's like the days when he used "myopic" in every post.

Fred Garvin should also use "Visigoth" in as many posts as possible.
