Some Notable Games In Conference Tourney's This Week

Miami vs. Va Tech: This is being considered as a play out game for the loser. The winner gets to take on the Heels and a win would all but lock up a bid. A good showing and close-game could also get them in.

Minnesota vs. Northwestern, the first game of a bubbleicious Thursday at Conseco. Penn State and Michigan will play their games later in the day.

Texas A&M vs Texas Tech Aggies look to be on the right side of the bubble but this could def change with a loss to the dreaded Raiders.

Providence vs. Louisville (Potential Matchup): Friars need at least a good showing to garner any attention for a bid. An upset would put them in all most rest assured.

Bubble would include 7 SEC teams not named LSU. I expect those guys to be well represented in the NIT.

I want Auburn to make it just because X beat 'em. They've been mentioned on ESPN recently on occassion. I think they play Florida in the opening round of the SEC tourney. Probably a long shot, but they're just as a good a choice as any from the SEC.

Someone from the Sporting News (maybe Decourcy) picked Auburn to win the SEC tournament, so your pick isn't as crazy as you think.

Pat Forde on ESPN did too.

Vandy is a bubble team now?

Vandy is one of 8 teams in the SEC with 19 or more wins. If they get to the finals, it will be hard to keep them out. They are an exceptionally young team that has gotten better as the season has progressed. Auburn is the hot team in the league now. After a slow start, they are playing great ball and will get in if they have a decent SEC tourney.

The SEC tourney has got to scare the NCAA tournament committee. With no really strong teams, anyone could win the tourney, and it would mess things up if Arkansas or Georgia sneak through.

Stallings must be an average coach because he's a hell of a recruiter. I think he recruits better than any other coach in the SEC. They do things the right way as well.

Stallings is a terrible coach. I've never liked him since I've been here. He seems to only have the management style of yelling at the players. Basically he just seems like as asshole.

The problem with Vandy recently is that their teams are one-dimensional. Last year all they had was the 3 ball, this year it's just Ogilvy. You are right that some of the young players have come on lately though, Beal and co. are finally hitting some 3s to take pressure of the inside.

I've heard a few people talk about Vandy recently as a bubble team, and I guess if they get to the SEC finals they should be considered, but I don't think otherwise. The only team they really beat in the non-con was VCU, and they lost to UIC at home and at Ga Tech.

Regardless, I'd love to see them as a 12 across from X. I think we match up well with them.

Providence in danger of falling off the Bubble. Five in five days for DePaul?
