I think I saw that the Big East website will be offering a free webcast of the 1st round tournament games.
Line for that game is UC -8. It tips at noon if you are interested.

Ok maybe not shocking the world, but they are up 8 against UC with a little over 6 minutes to go. I have to say I take great joy in this, not only because they are a rival, but because that stupid midget coach of theirs said that the 8th best team in the Big East would win the A-10.

Regardless if UC wins, it sure looks like this team has simply quit. I think the same thing happended last year when they got beat by UConn by about 50 at the end of the year.
One of my UC buddies opines that teams match the personality of their coach. And he thinks UC has a whiney coach who doesn't take any responsibility.
I didn't think it was possible about two weeks ago, but If UC loses, they are now an NIT bubble team, although I still think they'll get in.

My guess is that he gets at least one more year. Based on his wins each season, you can't deny that his teams are improving. And he inherited a complete mess of a program. But these late season meltdowns certainly don't help.
The other thing is that he fell in disfavor with the basketball gods after he whined about tough his league is and how bad the A-10 is. Maybe next time he'll learn to keep his mouth shut, particularly since he got his ass kicked by our Muskies on his floor.

If UC takes a loss to Depaul they deserve to sit at home. I am sure that there are many more teams that are more deserving of an NIT invite then UC. I mean just because they beat 3 very medicore teams (UNLV, G-Town & ND) they should not get an automatic invite to the NIT. UC belongs in the CBI.

DePaul - 59
sUCks - 50
2:10 2nd
DePaul fans must be esctatic, they are a mere 130 seconds away from a Big East WIN, something they haven't tasted in a futle 0-18 season. I wonder if they didn't bother to bring a change of clothes to the Garden Party? (See Xavier Tales for the reference)
What could this do to sUCks post season? Will they be lucky to get an invite from one of those no-name wannabe tournaments, or will this merely move them to a crappy seed and having to play their NIT games on the road?

You can't be serious. I think UC's teams from last season and the season before were arguably better then this crap version. Just because UC has a couple of more wins this year does not mean they have improved. Look at who they beat. Look at UC's wins last year and the year before and you will see what I mean. Heck 2 years ago UC beat Xavier by 10 and this year Xavier toyed with them and still had a walk in the park for the most part. I hope Mick stays forever because the guy is in over his head. I think it would be hilarious if DePaul won the whole thing. Which I know is next to impossible, to win 5 games in 5 days when you are as bad as DePaul is.
The best part of UC losing to DePaul, is that UC lost to a team that for the most part wasn't even in any of their Big East games this year. Most of DePaul's games were considered a moral victory if they kept it under 20.
DePaul's been out-coached in the second half of every game this year. I mean Cronin couldn't out coach Jerry Wainwrong. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I think they're about even with last season. Their record is inflated this year by playing more OOC creampuffs.
Their Pomeroy Rating this year was #82 going into today's game. It will undoubtedly drop a decent amount after today's effort. It was #98 last season. My guess is that they'll be close to that area again.
To put their additional wins this season into further perspective, the average Pomeroy Rating of the teams they beat this season is 160. The average Pomeroy Rating of the teams they beat last season was 125.
I don't think they're necessarily worse this season, but I don't think it's a slam dunk to say that they've improved.

In 3 seasons in the Big East Tournament, UC is now 0-3 with losses to Syracuse (buzzer in 2006), a DNQ in 2007, a loss to Pitt last year, and now an 0-18 DePaul team? I was not in favor of seeing all 16 teams included in the Big East tournament, but it takes a big man to admit it when he's wrong.

Mick Cronin sucks ass. The 4 straight losses to teams like USF, Seton Hall at home, and Depaul is proof that no one on that team gives a gawd damn what Cronin has to say. Either that, or whatever he says is utter bullshit.
Either way you have to pin this implosion down the stretch on the head coach. This team might not be an NCAA quality team before this run of losses. But you just can't lose to the bottom of the league with what they had at stake.
F him. Really.....F him!!

I think this just proves how mighty and powerful the Big East is. I am hoping the committee recognizes this and puts all 16 teams in the NCAA.
I am still wondering why Mick Cronin, who has accomplished absolutely nothing, feels he can talk about the quality of teams in the A-10 and SEC this year.
I wonder if Mick is going to blame this on youth again.

I don't know why everyone is so down on UC for this loss. DePaul is a really good team. Their record looks bad on paper, but it is just a testament to how incredible the Big East is this year. DePaul would probably win the Missouri Valley Conference, C-USA, or the A-10 easily, and cruise into the post season with a high seed. They just get no respect because they are trapped in a power conference, and it is a crime they will not make the tourney.

The late Paul Eugene Brown had a saying: "When you lose, say little; when you win say even less."
Mick Cronin should have those words tatooed on his forehead for everyone to see for what he said about the A10 and Xavier either before of after the West Virginia game.
Not only might his words come back to haunt him, he might lose his job over that loss. And AD Mike Thomas isn't exactly on safe ground after the Huggins Love In.
This should also be a lesson to some of us on both boards to use some restraint. Not a whole lot, but some, regarding expectations and predictions.:D
