View Full Version : Amazing ticket opportunity - Suite for the watermelon thumping on Thursday

I find myself in possession of 2 tickets to a suite for the game Thursday.

Unfortunately, my group is more than two, and I'm unwilling to ditch any of my boys for such an important game. Therefore, the tickets are somewhat up for grabs.

I'm not accepting any cash for these tickets.

So here's the deal, between now and Tuesday evening, I'm looking for an offer of two tickets plus a contribution to Pablo's fund in exchange for the two suite tickets I will also consider offers that do not include tickets. .

If you're interested in making an offer, PM me. I have a "reserve price" in my head. If I get an offer by Tuesday at 9PM that meets the minimum, I'll let those tickets go. If not, I'm planning to bring those tickets to Dana's on Thursday and doing a raffle for the Suite tickets.

If my reserve is met, I will post the highest offer in this thread to allow anyone to top the highest bid.

Remember, I'm not taking any money for this. My preference will be that any winning "bidder" meet up with the crowd at Dana's and deliver a check directly to Pablo's brother, and I'll hand over the suite tickets.

Here's the thread on the pregame festivities planned for Thursday:

Because it's critical to have only Xavier fans in the house, I reserve the right to ignore any offer from anyone that might be a dayton fan, or in any way a deadbeat.

Edit: There is no requirement that an offer include tickets.

Which suite? Free beer?

I don't feel comfortable posting the Suite number. If you have some concern about being in a particular suite, PM me.

I am not sure what the catering arrangements are for the game. I've never been in a Cintas suite. I would expect that there is free food and beer, but I'm not promising that.

I've taken out the part where offers should include two tickets. The highest contribution offer gets the Suite tickets.

are the people in the suite going to be like "Who in the hell are these strange rangers in my suite?"

LOL. I had the same question when I saw this thread.

Food and beverage are not part of the suite cost and are charged to the suite holder. I recommend that if there is food ordered for the suite, you ask the suiteholder's permission before partaking.

I've been in a couple of Cintas suites and they always had food and beer. In fact, at Richmond last, my last XU home game as a student, my friends and I were the last fans out of the Tas as we stayed and drank for about an hour and half after the students cleared off the floor.

Hi, former XU cheerleader here, looking for tix! So, assuredly, I am a fan! We are coming in town from Columbus and really want to attend the game. I am taking a night off from being mommy too so really need the break! Ha! I know you are looking for a donation. Give me a figure and I will attempt to match this. Again, we really want to come in town for the game. Scalping is our only other option it seems. I was given your link from a friend. Thanks!!

HAHA no kidding. I was laughing the whole time reading that post. I just pictured some UD fan thinking he came up with a "brilliant" plan to get into the game.

I acquired the tickets in a silent auction at a local fundraiser. The tickets were donated by the suiteholders. They will be expecting strange rangers in the suite.

"Former cheerleaders" will have no chance at these tickets without a personal interview. However, in the event there are actual ex-cheerleaders out there that want the tickets, I have Pablo's Brother's explicit permission to make it happen in the spirit of Pablo.

Regardless, a board member has submitted an offer that is at or above the minimum requirement I had in mind for the tickets. If you're hoping to score these sweet suite tickets, it's time to pony up.

PMI, in your youth you were "The Heel"? That was funny stuff. Now you are a graduate and you are looking back as your last game as a student. That makes me feel so old. Stop doing that.

I just can't do it. I had a sexist response all lined up complete with a cheerleader flexibilitiy test. Then I thought, what if she is really a new X-grad and a new mommy? Then I would just be a complete prick. Not that I am not a complete prick without that, but that would really accent my prickness.

None the less, I can't enjoin the rest of you in this incredible set up. I just have to let it play out and watch from the sidelines.

I think it's Jimmy Binnie. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that he was a former XU Cheerleader. He probably helped our team more than any of the cheerleaders did.

PMI is/was the Heel. The kid turned out just great. He's got a good streak of Pablo in him.

I had another response crafted last night in response to the cheerleader as well. I think in my mildly overserved state, I posted it briefly as well, then had the same "uh oh, it could be legit" thought. In fact, I do believe it is legit, and I believe there is a board member who will vouch for said cheerleader.

I have to say, I can feel a whole lot of Pablo's influence in this whole series of events... first, I wind up with Suite tickets on a total fluke - to the Dayton game of all games. Then Pablo's bother PM's me and says that Pablo probably would have wanted those tickets to go to some 'hard up' young ladies. Then right after that, an ex-cheerleader shows up needing some tickets. Tell me you don't see the hand of Pablo in that whole chain of events.

Hilarious. Only Brian.
